We are still looking to sign Helmes. He is now Bruce's main transfer target.

More talk of us signing Cisse. Would be a club record of 14 million

According to some reports his agent flew to England on monday. However there is no confirmation he came to speak to us.

Fingers crossed though.

Neutral Really not happy about being linked with Crouch.

The money being talked about for a Journey man coming to the end of his career is a joke.

Hes the white heskey.

Will be really underwhelmed by that signing, money would have been much better spent on Cisse or Helmes.

According to rumours in Germany we have had a 13 million euro bid rejected for Cisse.....

I dont believe this for a second mainly due to fact Ashley is a cheap bastard but if it's true then you will have to stump up some major dough to sign him....

Latest earlier was Fred rejected bids from 4 clubs from him, they want 13 million for him.

No mention of newcastle being interested.

I am only saying what i have been told that according to rumours any Germany we are one of those 4 clubs and our 13 million euro bid has been rejected....

Maybe its possible they have jacked up the price due to it being the last day?

I doubt we would bid that much anyway.

Also im pretty sure the asking price was 13 million pounds and as we supposedly 13 million euros it clearly wouldnt be enough.

This is definitely a transfer battle to watch out during the deadline day tomorrow. Who are the other 2 teams that want to sign him?

Fulham and Blackburn were linked earlier in the week......

Fulham have just signed Bryan Ruiz for 10.6m and i would'nt worry about Blackburn lol...

Let's face it NUFC and SAFC both have ambition for top 8 and cup run's Blackburn look like getting relegated if the lad has any sense he will choose Newcastle or Sunderland...

It look's like we are not willing to go any higher than what we already have and have turned our attentions to Modibo Maiga so the " Great North East CF War" does'nt look like happening lol Laughing

Gave up with transfer gossip now. Apparently we are selling Anton. Buying crouch for 10 million

And selling gyan to turkey making a loss of 10 million.

Think I will just wait till the window is closed to see how we do.

Crouch for 10M makes zero sense. will be 31 soon and has no re-sale value.

Newcatle has adapted the exact opposite strategy of Sunderland's transfer strategy, will be very interesting to see which club's strategy this summer works best in the end

I think Bruce has lost the plot tbh.

Gyan returned from the summer quite over weight and isnt in the best of shape.

But selling a player who cost us so much for such a big loss, wile he has 3 years on his contract to run is a typical idiot thing sunderland would do.

I think If we signed one striker, either Helmes or Cisse we have the potential to have a very good team and season.

But that isnt the Sunderland way we are more likely to take a step backwards.

Crouch for 10 million will be a utter disgrace. Arry him self said a couple of seasons ago he doesn't have very much re sale value. We will be mugs to spend that.

Bruce is at a stage where he is fighting for his sunderland career, this window will make or break him.

The way things are going I think it will break him and we will have a new manager by xmas.

Even selling Anton is stupid. At the start of the season I would have k QPRs hands off for money. But so far he has played every game and has played pretty well with Brown alongside. Although we havnt won, we have not conceded many goals, the problem we have is upfront. Our other central defenders Turner and Bramble are still injured.

I rate Bendtner, well, if he could just be consistent.
But that's certainly a fine option to your attack. Call me nuts, but I think Bendtner will make Wenger look foolish by having a tremendous season at Sunderland.

Surprised to hear that Gyan seems unhappy or demotivated, Sunderland should be pretty much a perfect fit for him, imo.

Have to agree with Real. I never wanted Crouch & cant stand him, even if he was on a free.

Will have to give Bendtner time to see how he does, he played well under Bruce once before and Bruce has a habit of getting goals out of unfashionable players. At least Gyan has some one to play with now, hopefully they can form a decent partnership.

Sad Have to say im sad to see Anton go, he was starting to show some promise playing well with Brown.

anton_ferdinand Anton Ferdinand
#safcfans thank u for ur love and support over the last 3yrs I hope u get into europe u deserve it!!

Might not have always performed on the pitch but he always had an outstanding attitude. Il always remember him for getting Rios kids Sunderland shirts as Christmas presents. Very Happy

On the positive side along with Steed & ringo it lowers our wage bill considerably, getting rid of 3 of our highest earners. Might allow us to further improve the squad come January.

It seems like certain media outlets are carrying an agenda to get Gyan out of sunderland and unsettle him. Quite pathetic really.

Asamoah Gyan has told skysports.com that he is disturbed by rumours claiming he was looking to leave Sunderland.

Reports emerged on deadline day that Gyan could be on his way out of Wearside, and it was also claimed that he had submitted a transfer request.

Gyan has now vehemently denied asking for a transfer, something which Sunderland also confirmed, and says he is very happy at the Stadium of Light.

"Those rumours have disturbed me to be honest," he told skysports.com.

"I do not want Sunderland fans to think I am not happy in Sunderland. I am happy with Steve Bruce who invested so much money in me and I will need to repay his faith."

Tottenham and French giants Marseille were both linked with Gyan, but he admits it can only be natural to be flattered.

"It is normal to be excited when a club such as Tottenham is interested, however I have a contract somewhere and I intend to honour that."

They were probably making up rumours to try and make the most boring parts of deadline day more interesting

Sunderland is one team i really hoped Bendtner would go to. Don't give a rats ass about stoke or QPR tbf

Not saying bendtner is world class ( eventhough he disagrees with me on that one ) He is really a great talent. we never gave him enough chances upfront. But when we did, he did really well.

I guess bendtner upfront with Gyan behind him as a SS can work well ? Bendtner and Eduardo were excellent together so i think bendtner and Gyan can work as well.

Sad Well Gyan got injured playing for Ghana, not sure how serious it is but it was his hamstring that went so probs going to miss a few games. Makes the signing of Bendtner even more important, guess he will be thrown straight in playing with Sess.

Dong scored 2 for south Korea in his game
