Re: Real Madrid vs Leicester City
Nick -I think you have become very negatively biased against Granero. He is a reserve and doing a decent job. You seem to think every misstep is his fault!! I find Kaka Benz and Coentrao performances more disturbing.
And what about Ramos. he is having a decent game, probably more offensive than Marcelo.
And Albiol. He isn't looking too bad (mind you he isn't being pressed).
And varane. He keeps impressing me.
I think starting line-up is becoming pretty clear.
Casillas
Ramos Pepe Ricky (but I think Varane will get a lot of time here) Marcelo
Khedira (Sahin may compete for this spot as time goes on) Ozil Alonso
Di Maria (although this spot will have several subs) Higgy CR7

Benz is playing bad?
He has been pretty good so far, pretty much linked to almost all of our attacks so far, but he is very limited atm, he has to act as a AM and a goalscorer

not at all, he isnt the worst on the pitch, Kaka is. Benzema is doing just fine, so is Coentrao, in terms of activity, he will always be productive because of his tireless running.
Depth or not, Granero supposed to playmake and you can tell he lacks the basic principles of what being a playmaker is. he doesnt have any vision, and tactically, you can tell the difference with Khedira, depth or not, im not satisfied with him.

Sorry, but I dont like the idea of Khedira and Sahin fighting for Starting XI spot, when we could use both of them at midfield.futbol_bill wrote:Nick -I think you have become very negatively biased against Granero. Re: Real Madrid vs Leicester City
If kaka would crash in as a striker once Benz is high, that would be fine. But he's not doing anything...
As far as granero, he's just ok at everything. Doesn't have a real strength. It's tough at Madrid because that will make you look even worse when surrounded by wc players. He's a bit too shy out there. I think his confidence is low... Needs to take some risks, especially with passing.

Once Sahin gets established he will also get some starts in place of Ozil. He will be a regular, but he needs time to get established with club, Early injury hasn't helped. You definitely will have Alonso in starting line-up and Ozil pretty well has a lock on centre MF (CAM), so that leaves Khedira and Sahin to compete or rotate. Bear in mind, it looks like Mou will give all 21 lots of action and there will be lots of rotation this year. Last year, he needed to establish team and he couldn't replace Alonso nor CR7, this year he has valid options.

Re: Real Madrid vs Leicester City
Sorry if im being a party pooper but i think we are almost the same as last year when considering Attacking movements and Team chemistry.Even if it is a pre season i strogly believe mou teams never depends on team chemistry.
Re: Real Madrid vs Leicester City
Bill, expect Sahin to bench Alonso a lot as well, he isnt untouchable by any means

My only complaint is that the passing isnt improved, we still launch a lot of ocunters with long balls forward, not to my liking. I blame the AM that should come deeper to collect the ball.

Go wash your mouth!!! Xabi is more than untouchable to me. He plugs every role you need him to and does it very well.
