Real Madrid vs Manchester City
This is just a casual thread..Actually not convinced by Mancini in the CL nonetheless it could be a great game if it happened next season.
City have however won a hard fought battle in end to win the Championship and they shouldn't be underestimated.
Currently speaking how would they lineup head to head ?

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Madrid would dominate possession and City would play on the counter.
It is difficult to say who would win though. Madrid have more quality, so i am going with Madrid.

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Nah its vice versa actually, we dont have the players to actually play possession football. Our attack is miles ahead Citys, so we have an edge over them at that point.kiranr wrote:

Agree with Nameless
The Bayern game showed me we would probably play counter against almost any big team

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Actually i think Madrid would win this one easily if they face them next season.Bold prediction i know i am just not convinced by Mancini in the CL ,it could change though.
But i am just asking hypothetically ,how good you think this City team in comparison to Madrid's, which City players could get into Madrid's eleven ?

Nah City's possesion football is really really slow,Madrid's pressing would put them under alot of pressure

Madrid won't play possession football in the literal sense. But you will see more of the ball because City will look to counter-attack.
Madrid will dominate possession because City will sit back and not because Madrid are possession masters.

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Might work but, lets be honest Im not surprised if we would lose against City, they have a very strong starting XI.kiranr wrote:Nameless wrote:Nah its vice versa actually, we dont have the players to actually play possession football. Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Bayern were second best possession team after Barca statistically yet the possession stats of the two matches with Madrid were very even.
I dont think City will dominate possession, sure madrid are no possession side but they do dominate enough time on the ball in almost every match.
I do think we have a very far better goal scoring team than City and they have no player like Ronaldo to make a vast difference.

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
If we play like we did against Barca or Bayern we would win. I think possession would about even, we can hold onto the ball but we lose it more often because we're very direct and not every attack ends up as a goal.
City are a tough team though no doubt.

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Well that match would be hard to predict.
Quality is there on both sides, and I wouldn't necessarily agree with Nameless, City has a beast attack. Sure they didn't score 121 goals, but considering their main striker left for Argentina for few months and the fact that they needed to adjust their attack then - 93 goals is plenty imo.
If their attackers get in form and stay in form next season - they could be beasting imo.
I guess it would be a narrow win for Madrid because we have more CL experience, and team experience, but nothing can be said for sure.

We did in the Bernabeu, not at the Allianz though. The first leg cost us the tie imo.

We played well but we let ourselves down at the Allianz.

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
I think Madrid would win...We've all seen Yaya's laziness multiple times this year and I think him and Barry would be helpless to shield the back four from counters
I think City's attack would give Madrid fits in an open game...but Madrid are smart enough not to play open games against teams that pose a threat to them

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
This would be a *bleep* good match.
Better than City v. Barca because Barca would look to do 90 minute tiki taka, ball hogging bullshit.

Yeah it would be a great game.
At least up until Jose or Mancini start taking off strikers for midfielders

Re: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
But Epep and De Jong would step in to defend their managers. Who would win?
Anyway should be a goat friendly imo
Madrid's pre-season is sounding Epic.
Juventus in Las Vegas, Milan in New York and City in Boston. Awesome
