Klinsman New US Coach
This time, it’s not just talk: Juergen Klinsmann is the new coach of the U.S. men’s national soccer team.
U.S. Soccer moved quickly to name a replacement for fired coach Bob Bradley, announcing Klinsmann’s hiring Friday. The former standout player and coach for the German national team will be a familiar name to American fans, given that U.S. Soccer almost hired him twice—first after the 2006 World Cup and again last year before giving Bradley what turned out to be a short-lived contract extension.
Now, with the U.S. team’s progress seemingly stalled, it’s time to see what Klinsmann can do.
The U.S. team faces archrival Mexico in an exhibition match in Philadelphia on Aug. 10, and qualifying for the next 2014 World Cup in Brazil begins next year.

Let's just hope he does better than he did with Bayern.
That was truly disastrous...

He was great with Germany, though.
Maybe he's better a tournament football. Hopefully. Good luck to him.

Klinsman is a great motivator but bad tactically. At 2006, the tactics were all down to Loew. Klinsman is kind of like Leonardo but he is a bit better tactically. Let's see how this turns out for USA.

This appointment will hopefully help the US move a bit more toward a European style. We've been too focused on physicality and endurance and and failed to develop the technical ability needed to boss a game. As such we're usually quite good when playing as the underdogs and grabbing the upset, but fail (rather spectacularly) when it comes down to controlling a game we should be favourites for.

No point in adding on to this, perfectly said

YAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bob Bradley was a great coach. I have tremendous respect for him, yet I realize that the time has indeed come to look towards a proven European manager to really make the next step into football's elite. I want to see us win the world cup once before I die.
What is Klinsmann's modus operandi for squad selection? Does he like to pick a small squad to work with over a period of years, or is he more Bradley like, in that he picks players from all over at different times based on form?

Klinsmann wants to change the whole US youth setup, won't be easy work, that's for sure.

I don't like foreign coaches in NTs. I think it's not how it's supposed to be. In a way, it's like cheating, it's a national team, everyone in the team should be from the same nationality, and not just the players, everyone. And I'm not xenophobic, it's just that it's more fun that way, to see what you can achieve with people from your country. It's whole point imho. It's the same with Brazilian players playing for other countries, it's a shame. But oh well, good luck to the Americans.

Everyone's foreign in the US. It's an immigrant country. Not too many natives around.
