Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
I wonder what it is that he wanted to do but couldnt, probably wanted to pull on a united shirt and score some own goals.

But.......... he scored the winner.
End of story.
Why are you obsessed with what this guy does? Not great tonight, but was great for the season so far. One performance ain't gonna change that.

Would be the biggest travesty if Messi still wins the Balon D'or over him this year.

Statistically Messi's still the better player this year.
Ronaldo has been decisive this year, however Messi's been decisive too, in terms of La Liga.

Recently, sure, but he was one of the biggest reasons Madrid lost the league in the first couple months.Giggity5313 wrote:He's been fantastic in the leagueAlbiceleste wrote:Agreed, although his league performances have been wax and wane.

Where was he when Madrid lost 8 points in the first 4 liga games? Didn't he go like a whole month without even scoring too?

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo had to take a glucose tablet during the second half of the game at Balaídos in an attempt to inject some much-needed energy into his muscles and brain.
It was towards the end of the match when the Portuguese started to feel weak. He approached the bench and was given the tablet which helped him see out the rest of the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo played the game against Celta having not fully recovered from a bout of flu. He spent the two days after the game at Old Trafford in bed. He didn't even train on Thursday, but he didn't pass up the chance to travel to Vigo and help his team, although he did so with his defences low.
The medicines he was taking for his fever, cold and bad cough had left him in poor shape. He decided to play and as the game progressed, he let Mourinho and the team doctor know how he was feeling.
The moment when his strength began to fail him came after a series of efforts made when the match was still undecided and Celta had raised the pace of its game as it went desperately in search of an equaliser. The game was end-to-end stuff. Cristiano felt a sugar low and the glucose he received helped him to avoid hypoglycaemia and subsequent fainting.
Back in the dressing room after the game, he was able to fully recover by eating carbohydrates in the form of the players' usual post-match pizzas.

I really admire his work ethic but I wish he's take some rest. He deserves it.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
That's how that kind of stuff happens, rushing players back to health. With the depth Madrid have, why isn't he resting in this situation if he's sick etc.?

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
A combined 36,000 retweets and counting for two of the most banal tweets you’ll see today, but this is Cristiano Ronaldo and Justin Bieber we’re talking about.
Bieber has nearly 36 million followers on Twitter and – despite more than a sneaking suspicion that his incredibly boring tweets are posted by a member of his PR team – Ronaldo has just short of 17 million, which explains why a simple exchange between the pair of them sent so many of their fans into a frenzy earlier today.
It goes without saying that there were some interesting responses, of which this was undoubtedly the most bizarre…

Cristiano Ronaldo knows no limits. The Portuguese striker has become the first Real Madrid player to score 11 goals in one season in the Champions League. Having reached this tally after the three goals he scored in the quarter-final against Galatasaray, he has made this his most goal-studded season of the ten he has played in the Champions League throughout his career thus far. Cristiano, who is the top goal-scorer in the current edition of the competition, has also become the first Real player to score in five consecutive matches in the Champions League.

He will probably beat his record of 60 goals, he has 48 now, with at least 11(12 with CL final) games to play.
