What Ronaldo needs to do against Barca and other teams
Instead of trying to dribble when we have the ball, he needs to make off the ball runs.
What I've noticed is whenever he does try to dribble he gets crowded out by Barca. Most teams use that technique against him successfully nowadays.
Ronaldo's more of an inside forward/winger forward. Therefore instead of trying to play as winger, he should try to play more as an inside forward/winger forward. That way he'll probably be more effective.
Ronaldo's quick and has good finishing, so he needs to make off the ball runs.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
The problem is against Barca he can't even finish.
it's not like he never gets good chances against Barca.
for example remember his first Clasico in camp nou. he missed a 90% chance that Kaka created for him.
in Copa del rey he also missed 2 or 3 great chances in 90 minutes.
in supercup too. and in last game we all saw what happened.
he need to focus more or he will never shine against Barca.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
It's up to Mou to lay down the law in my opinion. Ronaldo needs to pass. Finishing will come with confidence. He's a lost man when he's played barca recently

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo needs to be moved to right wing permanently. Not necessarily against smaller teams, but in big games like the classico and more important CL encounters. He will score less goals, but will be made to work for the team much more and stop taking those ridiculous shots. It will also mean more goal scoring responsibility and chances for Benzema and Higuain. This is how Real should play the classicos IMO...

It would be better if he cuts in instead of going out wide imo.

Meh I agree with the play simple instruction. We can prolly beat Barca without him having a stormer, he just mustn't have a shocker...

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Against Barca, and in other big games, he should just cut out dribbling completely, IMO. When he's in the final third, he should play it simple and pass to someone else then make a run through the defence to create space for the other attackers, or even receive the ball in a favourable position. So, I agree he just needs to use running, passing and finishing to do well.
Edit: Of course, he also has to pressure their defenders when they have the ball.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
1) Sanchez makes a run towards the goal, covered by two defenders and from outside the penalty area nets a goal from a tight angle. Half a chance and a goal.
2) Ronaldo is well within the penalty area, barely being marked by one defender, from a very comfortable angle with decent amount of space and........laughably squanders a clear cut chance.
3) Cesc sprints while having Coentrao on his heel the whole distance, Iker is fully aware of where he is and yet still manages to score it with his head from a nothing cross. Half a chance and a goal.
4) Ronaldo receives a sublime cross in the middle of the penalty area. Not being hassled by anyone. Valdez is completely oblivious to what is going on. All the space in the world...and laughably squanders a clear cut chance.
Ronaldo is simply not a one shot kill kind of player. He's a 5 shots kill kind of player. And against top teams that simply wont cut it. He better shape up.

I think this performance against Barca is in his top 2 for sure.
Hopefully it's the start of something great.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
I liked how he played. Made a couple of silly dribbles, but he did what we wanted him to do and kept it simple. He also defended a lot and was nearly always looking to play the pass. Decent performance overall, but a massive improvement, compared to his previous Clasico performance.

Re: la Máquina - Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo had a great game despite the result.
He played for the team and never tried to do the impossible.
Which is what we need.
We lost 2-1 and got scored on by their defenders.
We can win at Camp Nou 2-0.
it isn't impossible. Besides Hercules did it.
