Re: Serie A 2024/2025
Milan rekt by Parma.
Expected, it was obvious Pioli was doing a mega job lifting that squad above it's league snd Fonseca can't repeat that.

Watched the first half of Milan Parma and Parma were cutting through their defense every time. Im here for the Milan collapse. #JusticeForPioli
So far it's Inter and Atalanta looking strongest. Atalanta made like 5 good signings, I hope Gasperini can sort it our faster than usual so they can have a real scudetto push vs Inter. Scamacca will likely miss most of the season too.
I'm excited for our game against Verona tomorrow, it will he the first real test. We'll be without Weah and Thuram so Savona and Luiz likely start.

De Rossi rode the usual post Mourinho grace period well, but now that it's worn out, we'll see what he's really made of.

Re: Serie A 2024/2025
Fonseca is as bland as I predicted.
Yes we just began but I am not getting his ideas as he hasn't impressed me in his previous Serie A tenure and I dont see it changing now.
Hoping DDR does come through for Roma though as he is clearly talented.

Barca is in danger of signing Chiesa so i have to ask our resident spaghetti mafia.
Is he any good anymore of is he finished after the ACL? I hope this transfer doesnt come through personally, although he'd definitely be an improvement upon Ferran

He's definitely not Euro 2021 level Chiesa but he was pretty average last season. Seems to have lost that blistering pace from 3-4 years ago although he's still pretty quick.
Also dint help the fact Allegri used him as a support striker in a 3-5-2.
Maybe playing in a more offensive league like La Liga might help rediscover his form.
It's not a lot of money so Barca might potentially be getting a pretty decent deal for themselves. JJ needed to get rid of him because his annual costs on the books was pretty significant and it appears he was asking too much money which we weren't willing to offer.

Re: Serie A 2024/2025
there are reports that the signing is discarded due to FFP
Barça will not sign Chiesa. The option has been ruled out as of today. There is no Fair Play.

Re: Serie A 2024/2025
And realistically we have Pau Victor, Ansu, Raphinha, Olmo and Ferran who can play in that position
From Flick's comments I gather that he counts on Ansu as he regains his physical form.
Id rather pass on Chiesa and sign someone like Nico/Leao next summer if possible.

You would be getting him extremely cheap due to the contract situation at Juve, a bargain and an upgrade over Ferran. It's a shame we will lose him like this when we finally would played to his strengths.

Re: Serie A 2024/2025
Motta has made us exciting to watch again. In the match our midfielders are Locatelli and Fagioli, with Cambiaso, Yildiz, and the CBs I'm support. All of these players were already at Juve yet now we play some really exciting stuff.
Enthusiasm is back in the club.

Chiesa looks Liverpool bound
More on Federico Chiesa exclusive story.
— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 26, 2024
Understand Chiesa has given his full availability to join Liverpool after initial talks.
He’s excited about this possibility and contract won’t be an issue.
Juventus want Chiesa to leave and asking price is around €15m.

Verona pal, calma.
They just came from destroying Napoli 3-0
Besides this refreshing style of play and 6-0 aggregate is without the new signings. With Nico, Luiz, Conceicao, Thuram, and Koopmeiners in the mix we will be dangerous this season.
Next up, Roma.

Pal, you have no idea what JJ fans have gone through over the last 3 years.
You wouldn't associate high-pressing, aggressive attacking football with JJ yet here we are.
I'm so pumped ffs. Motta looks like the real deal. We probably wont win anything this season but man, we are on the right track.

Re: Serie A 2024/2025
Juve played better in 2 games than they ever did under Allegri.
Still don't understand why Motta green lit the sale of Huijsen. He and Cubarsi are the best young ball playing CB's in the world.

Re: Serie A 2024/2025
Not really surprised by this. Inter Miami players have said the number one thing Messi told them was to stop running so much, and stand still more.
Pep says build up should be at a walking pace. The reason for that is the faster the ball goes forward the faster it goes backward. Patient territorial gain enables you to have a better pressing structure after you lose the ball. Luis Enrique said something similar a few months ago.
By taking a more calm and measured approach, it explains why Juve haven't really conceded high xG chances in their first two games.
New gen thought process = run like an animal without the ball, then patiently gain territorial control and probe for the free man and then accelerate your attacking action.

Re: Serie A 2024/2025
I wouldn't even say it's a new gen thing it just seems like a thing in MLS where hard work and hustle will somehow make the difference beyond the threshold it has. Im sure it would bother some that Messi is saying what he does given he does just walk now and of course his teammates won't even hold a candle to his skill to pull that off, but he is right.
I used to be against that thought but Im always in the territory of a deliberate build up over rushed ones relying on physical traits.
