That's not true in the lightest. Highest level doesn't mean anything as there's so much variation in a cup competition it's easily the most random way to compare performances. League is easily the best indication of overall performance, as you play against the same opposition, twice. And only thing could disrupts that are injuries. Barcelona CL 14-15 beat only champions in KO rounds, compare that to any Refdrid draws lmao.

If Ballon d'Or wasn't about team tituleros, league rating would be the way to go.
