Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
And he'll rightfully get his balon d'or
Messi is the reason Barca is even relevant
Luuk should be a contender for Barca MVP kudos to Koeman for spotting this winner
Instead you are rocking up with poor mans Asensios like Ferran and you wonder why your general plays have gone to shit and out of evey competition

At least Asensio was almost free. Barça paid frigging €55+10 millions for this pleb, on the very same day they told Dembélé "sorry we're broke mate, sign the contract pls?"
Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
Jeez it was their first loss in 15 games.
An undefeated streak that long was unthinkable when he took over. Cadiz lucked out with a smash and grab victory. It happens. Why are the pitchforks out?

Smash and grab i am 100% sure you didn't watch the game
And the fact still remains. He took over when Barca were 12 pts adrift. Bought a bunch of players and has them 15 pts adrift.
It's alright though, they'll win a trophy:

Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
I did not.
But I assume a team near the relegation zone did not play Barca off the park at Camp Nou. I’ll take a look at the stats and see the highlights later.

Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
It wasn't one's quintessential smash and grab as Cadiz could have won easily 3-0 if they weren't, well, Cadiz. Likewise, Barca could have equalised if their attackers weren't misfiring on all cylinders with the notable exception of Dembele who was a menace in this game.
But it is still Dembele so he could have done only so much.

Cadiz has done well vs us, according to commentator now its been them winning 2 n drawing 2 out of the last 4 vs us. They know how to nullify us n hurt us with quick counters.
We been poor for quite a few games now, prolly combination of fatigue, natural downward trend after a high run n just our true level reflecting itself Still lots of work to be done n time it will take.

- Koeman wouldnt have done same singings as Xavi did in winter (another Luuk De Flop probably)
- Even if you add Koeman's Messi-era stats its probably still worse even though the midget bailed him out many a time
So you're only going to use the sample size that suits you. Great lol.

Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
If Barca wins their game in hand it's still 12 points adrift. Team has done very well under Xavi, absolutely, including a 4-0 demolishing of Madrid. Nobody should expect immediate miracles. That Xavi has the team playing as well as they have is amazing.

Beating us 4-0 is going to save Barca and Xavi's season... because frankly, without that, Xavi has been underwhelming too.
We'll find out what he's made of next season.

Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
Give Xavi Griezmann and Messi or similar players of their caliber and let's see what happens Koeman had 2 WC players in attack while Xavi has none, bar Dembele maybe and even that is debatable.sportsczy wrote:Myesyats wrote:LA LIGA 21/22

even without player of Messi's and Griezmann's level Xavi's ppg is still better so far anyway so yeah.
I actually tuned in to the games and the 15 unbeaten streak was great, whereas I stopped watch games altogether under Koeman because we played so bad. That to me is worth much more than 1.9 ppg or 2.2 ppg.
If you want to get a "true" sample size, lets wait until end of 22/23 and then compare, also depends what transfers can be done in the summer. Xavi hasnt even had a preseason with the team.

There's already plenty of evidence that he's a good manager. No Barca fan is unhappy with him, and it's not because he was a legend.sportsczy wrote:Beating us 4-0 is going to save Barca and Xavi's season... because frankly, without that, Xavi has been underwhelming too.

Has any manager ever been exposed by their immediate successor as much as Xavi? Day and night difference between Flick's Barça and his.

If there is a lesson to be learned from this, it’s mandatory that you get experience in top level Liga before attempting to coach a big team.

Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
His excuse was lack of funds/transfers and a team based on teenagers but Flick basically lost Gundo/Felix/Cancelo and only got Olmo, everything else is the same
there is a difference in every department now
-tactical
-mental
-physical
-flick is not blaming refs/grass length and not giving extra days off
I'm not sure why Xavi didn't play Casado much who now looks like Kimmich regen. For a midfielder Xavi had a terrible talent id for these positions. Romeu Oriol?!

Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
Hold on a little bit
Flick, while starting wonderfully, still has a long way to go before surpassing Xavi as a coach for Barca.
It is very exciting though.

Re: Xavi, next Barca manager
Yea hes definitely doing better than Xavi but again ppl shouldnt be black n white all the time Xavi still done well... but its clear a couple of things he was guilty of... bias for certain players when they just plain suck, especially Spanish obviously... recently read things like Raphinha interview saying he was very frustrated all the time with Xavi taking him off on 60th (for Ferran) every game back then, Xavi cared too much about the media cos he was surrounded by ppl too involved whereas Flick can be more distanced n focused on just the football, etc... the fatal was speaking his mind as we know at the end... u just cant be coach of either Barca or Real n concede to the other off the field...
He done a lot of positives though as said already, n still a Barca legend
