Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group F
Enrique doing weird things.
424 against an opposition that is pressing high... and is playing 5 mids! You have 2v5 in the middle of the part and one of them is 17 years old (who played great btw).
Mbappe is injured. So they moved Kolo Muani wide the left (he sucked) and Mbappe centrally along with Ramos. The problem is that Dembele, KM and Mbappe thrive in space and with speed. Everyone is too close to each other. And the passing is very slow and methodical. You can't play with 4 strikers with these profiles. It would be one thing if you played with an Asensio for example... but not 4 direct players.
Didn't matter anyhow since the team was cut in two since the midfield was, again, 2v5
Now the defense... Skriniar and Marquinhos were shambolic. But they also had no outlets because you had 2v5 in midifeld. Still, they sucked.
Keeper was good. Fullbacks were good.

Two draws in a row is just a bad result considering we are third in the group now. We've looked good both games but the lack of finishing has been killer and Pioli just has a record of making it hard for himself on the European stage.
Somewhere where Milan have been a blunt edge for two years so far.

Jesus, wtf PSG, Enrique need to adjust somehting, countless times already Milan stay high n easily press n wins the ball... Enrique just leaving the front 3 up n not defending...

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group F
PSG midfield is weak. They're not getting the ball out and into the forwards fast enough. Vitinha and Ugarte really need to step it up.
Dembele is sloppy
Mbappe makes the most out of crumbs.
Muani looking good imo.
Zaire Emery is 17 let me remind everyone.
Skriniar and Marquinhos do not inspire confidence. If Milan press them more, they will make a mistake that will lead to a goal 100%.

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group F
Yea think Milan pressed very intensely n maybe PSG were surprised or something dunno... but same as the Newcastle game, think that video I saw said Enrique doing this on purpose maybe? Inviting the press n then releasing the front 3 maybe...
Anyhow, Dembele is clearing not working out...even in France's best club n given no.10, hes still a long way to develop... otherwise he will flop n be sold...
Think Vitinha's one of PSG's best players though, dont be too harsh on him
Mauni is like a human meat ramp, reminds me what Fernando Torres used to do for Spain...

Dembele has no final product. All flash and little to no substance.

Interestingly at Barca, he does produce often, he was our leading assist maker last season iirc... of cos our options were even worst
His problem is he is too limited in his overall game n lacking in some very basic things like simple passes to teammates even, basic defending... hes a weird player, able to do some crazy amazing things but lacking many basics simpler things hence very flawed

Very interested to see if Mbappe goes on to have an even better career than Haaland, or even CR n Messi, if he chooses his next club soon n carefully
CL goal wise hes 41 I think, Messi is 129, CR 140. Hes still young n its very doable.

Milan definitely hindered by their quality up front, I mean likes of old Giroud n Pulisic... they really need to upgrade if they wanna progress... even Leao is bit overrated tbh...

Lee Kang-in is very good. Came from La Liga. Highest selling jersey on PSG as a FYI.
Are Milan this shit? Because they were extremely shit tonight.

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group F
Ive loved Pioli since he came but his time is over.
Pioli is not on fire anymore.
It's a typical tenure for him. Start off with momentum, interesting football and ideas that work then it goes down, football goes to shit and he runs out of ideas.
I like the person, he speaks well, doesn't dress like an old man but for European football he just doesn't cut it even if his league record is impressive.
We dont have a true goalscorer. Giroud signed for his pension and no one else is a true finisher. This group is an uphill climb and I maintain none of the teams are even particulaly good.

What's happened to Italian midfielders!!! And defenders!!!! I remember the Pirlo, Marchisio and even Verratti recently. Same with Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini in recent past too. I won't even mention the legends every decade for many decades.
Is there no new generation coming up?
Italy always had these great poaching CFs too which have disappeared it seems.

Raspadori might be that new poacher eventually. Thing with Italian players is that they take a while to bloom is what Ive noticed. Never thought Immobile would be what he ended up being. Italy do be missing that Trequartista tho. I still have hopes for Zaniolo

The midfielders are great and some great young defenders too like Bastoni and Scalvini. Milan just has a random ass squad.

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group F
Good to hear. There are certain things that Italian players are just excellent at (or were) and I don't want that to go away. Of all the domestic leagues that I wish would become better, Serie A is on top. I think Bundi is a bit of a fraud defensively and people have a negative bias towards Ligue 1 (and there isn't enough money to keep players). So having a proper tactical and defensive league is important.

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group F
Milan have a decent core for Serie A but rotation is a bit light and they have Bennacer injured he's a big piece of their midfield. In CL group of death i never expected them to advance.
Also they got dismantled by Inter and beaten tactically by Allegri. Flat track bullies vibe. Leao created some plays from the wing and Szczesny made a big save, but we were never uncomfortable. Giroud seems to age like fine wine and he better not get injured or they will be in big trouble.

0 goals in 3 games is a disasterclass. Regardless of the type of group, death or not.
Maguire has more goals than Milan!
