In the east coast, sports usually start around 7:30 PM, i think our time zone is -5. Then you have the odd week end afternoon match which is a blessing for Messi fans in Europe.

Like every football star coming to MLS it feels strange to imagine this guy gonna visit my construction ridden town, to play against our pathetic club. What a time to be alive !

I personally don't watch MLS. I don't like the franchise format of the league, but it's a very American format. It's just too.....corporate. Watching the already expensive ticket prices soar into the 4-figure range due to this Messi deal must be a mouth-watering thing for the league and club investors. It's exactly why I don't watch MLS though. The fan culture is great however. That much I will admit.

This Messi deal sounds a lot like the Beckham deal and that's not much of a surprise given Inter Miami exists partially because Beckham exercised his option to buy a club.

Beyond that, this gets a *shrug* from me.

So three MLS-clubs in top 3 spots of Leagues Cup and qualifications to 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup. Inter Miami gets straight to R16 spot, Nashville SC and Philadelphia Union getting to the first round. The tournament was a resounding success, and has been an absolute win for MLS as a league, but nightmare result for Liga MX.
