Why there so many empty seats? They set the prices too high?

WTF. Gundogan makes it 2-1. Another volley. Kind of scuffed the connection with the ball this time, but it went in anyway.

just toothless up front, story of our season when weghorst is getting subbed on, otherwise City not really good today
all these trophies are getting stripped so them winning the treble in meaningless, cant wait for these shitters to get relegated

Nothing to be ashamed of for Utd, pretty good game. But Manchester is blue all the way around

they are 1000% getting stripped and possibly relegated m8, I am fully sure of this, the charges are ludicrous. Other clubs getting points deductions for a couple infringements.

I think it was a pretty awful performance from both sides, except for those two goals by Gundogan. I expected more from a final, even if it's only the FA cup. Most people seem to expect City to steamroll Inter, but that's 3 matches in a row now where they have looked below their usual standards and honestly, kind of disjointed and poor in possession.

idk but it warms my heart, and he deserves it
I remember when he said that, only in my memory he said not while I'm the manager. So if my memory serves me, he was right.

IMO you're reading too much into it... Brighton was a good game, City didnt care that much to win it whereas Brighton really wanted to get something.
Vs Brentford, heavy rotation; Gomez, Kalvin, Lewis, Palmer, Laporte as well as Alvarez and Foden started and none of them will start the final.
Today it looked like they wanted to cruise through the game in 2nd/3rd gear because it was enough for that Utd side, save the energy for Inter. Whenever it was needed, they stepped up a little, but Utd didnt create any clear cut chances, if not for the gifted pen they'd have scored none.
To me it clearly looked like their mindset is get this over the line with as little effort as needed and focus on Inter.

They played similarly when they fell behind in the title race earlier in the season and Haaland was in better form. They seem to rely on clutch, individual performances when they are in that auto-pilot mode, and those won't always occur. I imagine they'll play differently in the CL final, but that remains to be seen.

It hasn’t been a comparison for years . Mourinho hasn’t been considered a top manager for years . Flop at one club after another. Usually getting something in year 1 or 2, then complete meltdown in year 3. That’s in addition to his awful boring, outdated style of futbol and hit horrific personality. Simply put, he is a horrible human being! Pep on the other hand has always been praised and considered a top manager, not necessarily #1. The criticism was him not getting the top trophy. Now that he has done that with the addition of Haaland, you aren’t seeing that criticism any more!

Yeah but who doesnt rely on standout performers in knockout/final games? You could argue the same with regards to the 1st leg against RM where City played below par and relied on a KDB wondergoal to equalize. Similarly RM relied on Vini's individual brilliance
I just think they're picking their battles wisely, like the 2nd leg vs RM. You cant play like that in every game, it requires a lot of focus, effort and discipline
To win the CL you definitely need clutch, individual performers. Benzema, Vini, Modric, Ronaldo and so on. City have those tools now, if KDB doesnt step up then Bernardo, Gundogan or Haaland does

I don't think you can just turn it on when you want. These are professional athletes in a championship game that can lead to the illustrious treble thatll be etchedforever in history. They're obviously playing at 100%

Well, I think you can. Sometimes the opponent doesnt let you though. The 1st leg vs Madrid is an example of City being on the back foot, catious, waiting for things to unfold rather than take the game by its throat. Then they turned it on in the return leg, the things is you have to assert yourself from the very 1st minute
IMO this just goes to show how high Pep and Man City have set the standards. Winning isn't enough, other teams are fine sitting back and relying on counters whereas Pep needs to dominate and blow away everyone to get credit.

Re: 2022/2023 Premier League Discussion
Don't think City were that bad, it's just that United did a great at defending their build up lanes.
Tight game, and man the moment De Gea goes United will take that next step. He holds back their entire game. The moment he leaves they can build up from the back more fluently and they can set their defensive line higher so they'll have a better press. That will let them build more structured attacks and enable them to put more sustained pressure on the opponent.
They need a boost in quality in key areas, namely GK and CF.

Should be at least 2 more CLs if not for some unfortunate events like Chelsea fluking their way in the CL final, and facing MSN with Bayern in 2015 and peak RM in 2014 but anyway insane numbers

Re: 2022/2023 Premier League Discussion
Yea Man U tried to nullify Man C's midfield from what I saw n just defended n countered all game. Havent watched Man C's last two games but dont think they matter that much, n even if Man C arent right up to it could be also matter of saving energy.
I feel if Inter were to upset this Man C side it would be similar to that upset in 2010, they would need to pull up some performance n Man C would need some combo of underperformance n bad luck, etc., to not win. It is one game so luck would be an even more bigger factor compared to that two legged upset back then, n that included one wrongly called off goal for an incorrect offside vs Barca too
Confident with Pep's vast experience n this group of players they wont mess it up again, Inter just are a few tiers below.

There will be no repeat of 2010.
That Inter side was incredible and filled with world class players who were at the perfect place, at the perfect time in their careers, under a perfect manager for their talents.
This squad is nothing like that and will get sadly rekt. However, the ball is still round and it's a game of football, miracles happen sometimes.

Re: 2022/2023 Premier League Discussion
only watched the 2nd half, but thought Man City looked quite weaker than they've looked a few weeks ago.
this Pep team thrives upon momentum and regular football at a certain intensity... maybe the last couple weeks of nothing to play for was bad for them.

Re: 2022/2023 Premier League Discussion
United need signings and they need it fast, they won't have the luxury of everyone being shit every season, they did the same in 2021-22. Half of that starting eleven is deadwood. Erik ten Hag has done a unbelievable job by grinding 3 points each week getting third. 7-0 was amazing but a huge win was hardly surprising.
