Re: 2022/2023 Premier League Discussion
Seems more likely that they will, with how poor Tottenham are this season. Newcastle are 3 points ahead with 1 game in hand. 8 games left of the season, though. I suppose anything can happen.

Worst liverpool in years and relegation-form West Ham taking away Arsenals league dreams. It's almost akin to the infamous Gerrard slip.

The match against Man City will be decisive. City look like they are in better form right now, but I don't agree with the sudden admiration for City's defense that some people seem to have. They've been defensively solid in recent matches, but I don't think they've been defensively solid over the course of the season, which doesn't inspire much confidence if you care about consistency.

Walcott ffs.
Once the man to give Arsenal hope and never deliver, now the man to take the hope away.
Poor mans's Leao strikes one back.

Re: 2022/2023 Premier League Discussion
Arsenal have turned it around in the past in such games. This season might be the last chance for Arsenal to have a shot at title, next season other teams will be stronger and it is not that easy to sustain league challenges season after season. And confidence can be very important which might not come naturally when 3 or 4 teams challenge.

Impressive attempt but a game against last place Soton is a walk in the park for City whereas Arsenal are fighting for their life to walk away with a point

Arsenal might be experiencing fatigue. Pep claimed after City's last match against Bayern, that the whole team was exhausted. Arsenal have a few injuries as well - Tomiyasu and Saliba, off the top of my head.

You plebs are going to realize now, how difficult it is to compete against City's unlimited resources
If any club wants to compete against City season after season, the only way to do it is spend crazy like City, keep your lawyers ready in the background if anyone questions your spending. Nothing to complain really, I hope other clubs learn this quickly.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Man United has spent close to the same amount that City have spent on players over the past 10 years, and even more than City if you factor in player sales. Look where that has gotten them

Yeah Utd have spent more, and Chelsea are probably getting close with their recent sprees

Lloris was poor, but so was the rest of the team. Tottenham look like a mid-table side these days, their team morale must've hit an all time low. They will finish below Liverpool at this rate.

City spent with a plan, under a single management, improving year after year with a steady ship.
United comes up with a plan, overspends, plan doesn't work, sack manager, overspend on new players, doesn't work, players flop, and over and over.
They still haven't figured out whether Rashford is a winger or a striker, wtf is even Sancho? Martial? They still haven't solved the basic problems from 5 years ago.

Yeah.. they brought back CR7 as well, which might not have been such a bad idea if they already had an established, top team, but instead it just reset the good form they were in towards the end of the season before he arrived. I think they did solve a lot of issues with the signings of Casemiro and Martinez, but that's not the end of the personnel needs they have, and with their post- Ferguson history of transfer activity, I wouldn't expect those two to be a sign of things to come
