So EPL yet to win a game in the last 16. Haaland is in the wrong team. He deserves better than the sterile possession City offer

I'd be pissed if I were Haaland. No one puts him through except for De Bruyne and Gundogan on the odd occasion.
Grealish, Mahrez, and Bernardo are allergic to passing to him. Haaland especially hates when Bernardo is on the ball because he knows he's never going to see a through pass. Today was pure tikinaccio. Absolutely awful.
I don't even know if it's their fault, because I know Pep threatens to bench them if they lose the ball. Henry shits on Haaland when doing punditry but the way he refuses to acknowledge Pep and the others as also being an issue is so odd to me.

Also City were robbed of a penalty. Why didn't VAR step in before the final whistle?

Haaland makes runs after runs but gets ignored every single time. Must be frustrating for him. Henry sees Benz as the benchmark. Anyone who doesn't play like him are not good enough.

Pep Guardiola on Erling Haaland: "He is 100% adapted to #ManCity. We need to find him more in the game, and get the passes to him..."

I really don't understand the current situation at City. They were playing so well at the start of the season, when KDB was at least trying to feed Haaland with direct passes and through balls on occasion. It was Foden who seemed allergic to passing the ball to him then. And then KDB stopped passing it to him as well, and instead started feeding him with sporadic crosses into the box.
This change in tactic has not favored anyone, and both Pep and the players have on several occasions responded to questions regarding Haaland's lack of touches/involvement in interviews, but there's been no actual change in how they play since back in late october. With the exception of the match against Arsenal where they looked much more cohesive as a team, they've looked uninspired for months now. Just churning out results.

I went to the toilet straight after the penalty, and it was 2-0 when I returned. That was quick lol

Ake has been amazing at LB since the WC. He never loses any of his individual duels. He’s a class defender and has improved a lot in possession in the last 2-3 seasons. He’s been City’s second best player this season IMO.

Yeah, he's been very good since the WC ended. He made a few blunders prior to it, though. So many of City's players have been in poor form since before the WC started, but he's been quite consistent since the start of the season.

Haaland should’ve stayed on. I wanted to see 6-7 goals from him ffs.

I assume there's a reason behind it other than simply wanting to rest him, but it's happened a few times by now that he's scored early goals and then he's been taking off by Pep. I had expected him to steamroll the likes of Copenhagen earlier in the season, but he was taken off really early in the game with only 1 goal to his name.

I have a theory that it was a political substitution.

Same as the commentator. Complained about Pep not letting Haaland make historic
Ake has been amazing for sure, prolly has saved Man C's defense in countless occasions compared with the past where they are often so weak at the back.

Other times it was probably to rest him but last night it was definitely to protect Messi's record
