Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Corrupt league.
A perfectly good goal at the end counted offside on a Giroud that is in the ground.
Ball was played back by Napoli defender (Jesus), and it is counted as offside. Extremely bullshit decision.
Worst league in Europe in its refereeing. Napoli scored in the first six minutes and sat back for days, not that Milan created much. A draw would have been a fair result.
Fuck this, I am done.

Halfway point
Inter 46
Milan 42
Napoli 39
Atalanta 38
Juve 34
Roma 32
Fiorentina 32
Lazio 31
Inter is 100% winning the title and Milan will be in CL. We finish 4 points from 4th place which is looking better than expected after the season's start. It will be very tight with Napoli and Atalanta.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Inter just 12 points ahead i refuse to give them the title yet
We will find a way to make top 4... and possibly more if we make clever moves this mercato... we are a good striker away from having many more wins
More so Morata is scoring goals lately and knowing his history i assume his form will last for a while

Pandemonia, terrible terrible preparations for this round from the Lega and health authorities.
Hope the league is postponed until AFCON is done.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Milan vs. Roma today.
Thanks to Covid, injuries, and the African Cup, we are starting with a makeshift CB pairing, without our first choice RB and MF, and without our first choice Forward line. Basically playing with only four starters.
If Roma, with their full starting 11, doesn't win this, they won't win against any top level teams. For Milan, here begins the battle for fourth place.

True chaos in Serie A today. Its 2 hours before kick off and I still don't know if our match will be played.
Teams decimated by covid after the break and uneven rules being applied by the different regions.
On the bright said there have been some crazy games (that I sadly missed).
Looks like I will miss Milan-Roma as well. Looking forward to watching us again and vs Napoli if it does get played tonight.

Bogus penalty to Milan. Barely brushed the upper arm of Abraham and didn't change the ball's path at all.
Giroud scores.
Seriously, look at the physics of the ball, can't see how that can be considered an intentional hand ball.

Now Roma with a massive mistake,. Backpass goes to Giroud, who shoots the bar, and Messias scores the rebound.
2-0 with no good play from either team.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
I'm starting to think that Pioli might lowkey be a genius, with the playstyle we are playing and the type of players the management is hunting.
I used to think the system we played was rigid and basically a one-trick pony with Kessie slotting behind and Theo marauding forward and that was that. Though this season, i'm starting to notice some intricate little plays.
Basically every player must be comfortable in playing in different positions.
Fullbacks>RW/LW (Theo, Calabria)
CDMs>CB (Kessie, Bennacer, Tonali)
CAMs>RW/LW (Diaz)
RW/LWs>Fullbacks (Saelemaekers)
LW>ST (Rebic, Leao)
Not to mention that you have players who can operate in multiple positions
Kalulu: CB, RB
Florenzi: RB, RW, CDM
Kessie: CDM, CAM
Saelemakers: RW, RB, LW, CAM (Recently)
Rebic: LW, ST
Leao: LW, ST
Diaz: CAM, LW, RW
Krunic: CDM, CAM, LW
Messias: RW, CAM
Its this interchangeability on the pitch that makes the team unpredictable and sprouts the best chances against opponents. The only stable positions are the two CBs and the STs (Ibra, Giroud), i would surmise that these are the anchor or reference points for the rest of the team to rotate.
Its ingenius, its not galaxy-brain Rangnick but it does provide for some neat football, i'm sure if you check our xG or some of the passes-to-goal metrics we'd be top 5 or top 10 in Europe.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Then there's United who's starters can only play in one role.
Pogba needs to play in a midfield 3, Ronaldo needs a forward partner, and Bruno can only play as a 10.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Let's not get carried away with this win.
Roma gifted us two goals, and then we required Magnian to make a string of excellent saves to keep them from equalizing. At that time, we also had our chances on the counter, which eventually culminated with a deserved second yellow for Karsdrop, and a third goal by Leao.
It was a good performance, but it was helped by several mistakes by Roma and a great MOTM performance by our GK.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Real shame that we didn't win last night, our top 4 chances took a big hit.
Particularly because it's a match we really could have taken home. In terms of lineup, motivation, and a few other things the team was setup well, but Allegri got it wrong tactically imo.
Inverting Bernardeschi and Chiesa was not the right move. They each play better with their preferred foot outside. Inverting them limited their game and led to some overly hopeful cutting in and shooting. I get why he tried it, because we need more shots and more goals, but it didn't work too well. When they reverted back to their natural roles in the second half everything was more coherent. Rabiot was obviously instructed to run in behind Chiesa and attack the goal and it worked well enough for the first half, but with Chiesa cutting in and Rabiot attacking the box the width on the left side fell to Alex who is just pointless in attack m these days.
The other mistake from Allegri was changing the setup for the subs. We were in control in the second half, then Bernardeschi was subbed out for Dybala and the team shifted to a 442 with Dybala-Morata up top and Chiesa as RM and McKennie as LM. This neutralized Chiesa who was already starting to get tired, and the less said about McKennie as a LM the better. So the team lost too much in attack. Since Morata is completely pointless it all just fell on Dybala.
It was a good match played by both teams, just a missed opportunity.
Still we managed some like 20+ shots, and as a sad fact our CF (Morata) only managed to get 1 shot away and it was off target.

What league? We have more chances of winning the champions league than Serie A.
This is even more wrong than rating Dembele, or than not rating Sancho.

Faith in Allegri is what keeps me from saying we will miss CL next year. We managed it on the last matchday of last season (justice for Pirlo), but last season we had Ronaldo to bail us out. Now we rely on Allegri.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Icardi is not expected to join Juve. PSG wants absolutely a sale and Juve wants absolutely a loan. That was a very good short-term solution to score goals.
Overall Max is doing the right things, he is never short of tactical solutions. I missed the Napoli match so i can't disagree if you say his tactics were detrimental for this particular match. But for me it ultimately comes down to a critical lack of finishing. We play a sensible game our problem is execution.
I am not worried at all for top 4. For the scudetto, the clock is ticking. It is 11:59
