Mbappe and it’s not even close

The why? Career wise it’s not comparable as of today and Mbappe is also more complete. He can finish and create his own goals. Because of his positioning he is also the better playmaker.

Superb talent but Mbappe has simply done more and for a longer time and I personally would take. Definitely more complete too.

I feel the obvious answer is Mbappe but he's got a couple years on Haaland. He has the achievements that Haaland doesn't right now because of that.

Brings a tear to my eye that these 2 can change my club overnight. Everyone knows of Mbappe by now but Haaland.... big size but has the agility and speed of someone half his size. It's incredible. Not to mention his shot power is a nuke.. His 2nd goal was as if he's been playing professionally for 10 years.

I'm sold on both being the next top two superstars.

He's already name-dropped Mbappe. If they both carry on their respective forms and avoid serious injuries, the media will probably market this as another footballing rivalry. Unless Perez pulls a masterclass and gets the both of them.

Haaland for me. Nothing to take away from Mbappe, just that I prefer Haaland's style. Mbappe seems to do best attacking space from the left or as a second striker, Haaland is pure CF which we could use more.

He really is playing at a mindblowing level for a 20 year old center forward. His CL scoring record doesn't make any sense.

Madrid you guys have to stop ! Haaland does not give a damn about Madrid. He will just follow Mbappe wherever he goes. If I am following the news correctly, there are equal chances of Mbappe staying at PSG or joining any other top club in Europe.

Btw, I am surprised no one spoke about longevity till now. It is really premature to speak in that respect about a player because it can be a bust or thrust of goals and goals. I doubt if Mbappe can hold his style over a longer period of time and give the same output because every player now or later will face some injury situations. So for immediate needs, I would go with Mbappe but in the longer term I am confused and probably prefer Gohlaaland.

i think Helmer made a decent point, Mbappe's style of play is more susceptible to injuries in the long run. This of course isn't to say that Haaland will absolutely not face injuries in his career

Haaland is just as reliant on his physical traits. I hardly recall a player his height with this much speed, he moves like he is 5’8.

Exactly. Mbappé is already out of Madrid's price range, even under normal circumstances. Marca and Le Parisien are claiming that Mbappe's next contract is going to be 30m per year. A figure that Florentino would never pay in a million years.

The only realistic target Madrid might be able to get is Haaland, and they have to bend over backwards this time because if they lose him too, expect us to stay on the dark side of the CL for at least the next decade.

Also in terms on achievement, Haaland started out in the second division of Norway and has been consistently good to reach Dortmund at his age while maintaining the numbers in every club and competition he has played in. I think this is an important factor to consider (I would call it an accomplishment) while comparing him to Mbappe who I would has had it imo easier to establish himself in the big leagues starting out in France (not downplaying his ability, just looking at the networks). Didn't Real approach Mbappe when he was a 11 yo?

If this was ten or twenty years ago, I'd be super confident deal can be made on one or even both strikers. But these days, especially over the last 5 or so years, this is a dream. Wont be surprised if we have the exact same group next season.

Ramos will possibly be gone, Benzema will at some point be gone, if you want superstars to replace those superstars, you will pay them superstar wages.
I think you're vastly exaggerating Perez's stinginess or his reluctancy to commit.

On top of all that, I can't help but feel that Haalands biggest asset is his mentality, this relentless, borderline psychopathic competitiveness, ambition and will to win. Ronaldo has that, Kimmich is also a bit like that.

Players like that, if they have quality too, are invaluable.

Agreed. I was always say that Haaland looks like a psycopath. He looks like scoring/winning is a innate necessity and nothing else matters. His interviews are hilarious awkward as well. Unreal player.
