Re: General Games Discussion
Me, Mole & Tom played Siege on and off the last few years. My second fav MP this gen.
It’s just ass in comp if you’re less than 4.
If clubs wasn’t so shit we could have a team again.

It’s not just clubs that’s shit, every new FIFA feels more shit than the last one. If you want to win consistently in FIFA 20, you have to notice when the game starts working against you, and immediately change your offensive tactic to spraying crosses into the box and hoping for a headed goal. If you don’t, the game will just fuck you over.

Re: General Games Discussion
Overwatch's matchmaking system is the best system I've encountered in a multiplayer video game. I play a few matches almost every day and while you might encounter a smurf or two every now and again, you never feel like you're against players who are far better/worse than you.Thimmy wrote:I haven’t played any other online multiplayer games than FIFA in recent years. I’ve come to realize that at almost 32 and with less time for games in general, I can’t keep up with the young’uns anymore. The increased time it takes to memorize maps and build up muscle memory just makes the experience frustrating.
I do miss MW2 and MW3, though. The last online shooter that gave me a MW- like rush was actually Rainbow Six:Siege. Ubisoft’s trademark shallowness is present in the game to some extent, but the concept is fantastic. I wish we could have made a GL team for it before they added a ton of redundant character types and tactical gadgets. Can’t be bothered to learn and memorize a bunch of stuff like that anymore.
That is why Overwatch is so appealing to me. I never get to play against those kids with 1000+ hours on their belts and superhuman reactions. Not to mention matches are quick (~10 minutes) and there is not a significant loss when you die, as you respawn 10 seconds later. So it is perfect when you're short on time and just want to kill half an hour. Now you go play CS:Go, CoD, BF, Fortnite or whatever, I guarantee someone will head shot you before you even move and now you're going to wait the rest of the game watching some kids play against each other and spam shit in the chat. I ain't got time for that no more.
Re: General Games Discussion
FIFA started dying with FUT. They ignore everything that is wrong with the game every year, add a lame cheesy 'story' mode that lasts 20 hours (if you can stand the cringe ). Everything else is the same. A few new controls here and there to bloat your controller, and either are totally useless (set up shot) that you don't give a shit about or so overpowered that you better learn it quick before you're the only one not using it (timed finishing).Thimmy wrote:It’s not just clubs that’s shit, every new FIFA feels more shit than the last one. And people complain about FIFA all the time, high profile players/streamers quitting etc but all it takes is for EA to give some free gold packs or whatever they are called to streamers and hype is back on. Kiddos go buy the shit to play FUT and the vicious cycle is complete again.

Enjoying Yakuza 6 a lot, fully voiced makes a big difference IMO, plus all of the quality of life changes from 0

Kiwami 2 and Judgement are on the same engine. Both are pretty damn good. Kiwami 2 has the best story.

MP is a different beast, I've only played SP on Bannerlord, and I'm not really a MP guy, although I've about 100h on CS 1.6. Bannerlord does have a MP too, although it's not perfectly tuned yet, but could be a real killer later on.LeVersacci wrote:1600 hrs on Overwatch since launch. Hoping for some great MP games next gen.

Yakuza 6, like 0, has a really, really slow start. Pretty much the first half of the game is just slow build up of the plot. Shit hits the fan when the story finally picks up pace, though. I wasn’t prepared for it

EA seems to have released Dragon Age II and Inquisition on Steam finally. They still need to release ME 3 and 4.

I didn't find the start all that slow tbh
anyway, just finished it, only 25 hours (with 38/52 sub stories done - the bar gaudi stuff was great btw) as ridiculous as the plot can get, I still thoroughly enjoyed it
story, slightly less so than 0, the boss battles were less epic, but I really like the cast of 6, some good villains and supporting chars. I'm a fan of a couple of the actors that were characters in this too, which helped. 6 was more fun to play than 0 too and I really liked Onomichi, nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of Kamurocho.

Re: General Games Discussion
I felt that the story stalled for quite a long time in Onomichi, with the baby stuff and getting accustomed to life in the city. It was alright, but it felt like a substantial break in the plot. It picks up pace and never really slows down again, once you’re allowed passage through the shrine place at the top of the hill.
Basically, up until that point, I couldn’t imagine anything turning babysitting life in Onimichi into a traditional, dramatic and action-filled, Yakuza plot. I did not expect all of the shit they suddenly revealed Â
I haven’t played Judgement. I’ll probably buy it on sale, one of these days. I did play Kiwami 1 and 2 back to back, and although they’re both very good games, I felt so fucking burnt out on games in general after finishing the last one. I also need to play the Yakuza 5 remaster at some point. I never played the original.

Re: General Games Discussion
Typically of my late starts to Metal Gear games, finally I have commenced MGSV.
I began with Ground Zeroes weeks ago and finished that, a very satisfying prologue with a lot of content and now at Mission 15 in MGSV.
I can see where people are pointing out that it is unfinished but it is far better than I expected and a beautiful looking game to this day. The gameplay is so fluid and polished its pure finesse. Shame this will be the last one,
Although just today we had an alert for a possible MGS broadcast for PS5.

Re: General Games Discussion
Not a chance it's the last ever MGS. Sony will get it from Konami at some point. It's a matter of time. Then they will make one for PS5 without any of the main characters.
But Kojima won't make it.

Re: General Games Discussion
I think it definitely is the last MGS. Konami will never let the IP go or do a mainline game without Kojima. I can see it continue through remakes.
The Fox Engine is a beauty, shame its wasted on PES.

Re: General Games Discussion
Firenze pls we know MGSV is your only entry into the series.
And I sincerely hope if Sony buys it they will get Kojima on board but one has little idea how long Kojima has been trying to branch out of Metal Gear and ever since past Sons of Liberty.
Survive was just a spit in the face of the series and not considered canon in any form.
on Mission 20 at the moment and the game is better by the hour. Fox Engine indeed is very powerful. Underused in MGSV clearly in terms of design but holds up well and renders beautifully.
