more like over tbh. Barca's only relatively difficult away game is Sevilla.
Rest should be 3 pointers.

Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
If you were a Madrid fan, you'd think after a mid-season managerial change at Barcelona, losing their second best player for the entire second half of the season as well as consistent injuries to multi-million dollar signings, and then beating them at home, all of this would warrant a long-awaited La Liga title. But Zizou disagrees.
But seriously, let's take a moment to applaud Real Betis. I've watched them only a handful of times this season but they are one of the most exciting teams to watch in Liga. No idea how they bagged Fekir in the summer, but the guy looks legit. Can see him make a big money summer move this year.

Betis was good, really good. Kinda baffling they are 14th and can play like this.

Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
They were probably still recovering from Setién's BDSM days of blindfolds, handcuffs and playing chess. Thankfully for them, he is Barça's problem now.
On Madrid, I was getting hyped up for the City match after you beat Barça. It still felt close to impossible to score 2 at Etihad, but there was hope especially after watching them flop against United.
That hope is completely gone down the sewers.

Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
Honestly, I have little doubt Barcelona will drop points again. They looked like shit yesterday at home. There is literally zero creativity in that team, and Messi is not as lethal any more to bail them out. I would love this title race to go to the last match day, like the old times.
Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
I think they will keep on dropping points because they are not in the best of shapes either.
But here's the catch: for every point dropped by Barça, be certain, and I mean absolutely certain, that Madrid will be there as well to say: "I'll see your point and raise you three".
Barça has it way too easy in the league.

add also the back and forths and subliminal jabs between barcelona's board which includes abidal and messi, a coach that blindfolds his players, and the poor form of barcelona's midfield, and yet we find ourselves two points behind? this is just ridiculous. what's even more ridiculous is that we will make very little changes next season. i won't be surprised if we spend 100s of millions on back ups and kids

It's not a stretch to say that Bayern would be walking this La Liga easily. Hell, even RB Leipzig would win it probably.

No matter how bad Madrid and Barca are right now, we haven't sunken below Bundesfodder level yet.

Madrid is coming off their worst season in recent memory and their sole important signing spent the entire season injured. I'm not sure why people expect them to be that much better than Barça, even in their current situation.

Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
if that's the case, that should indicate proper changes in the summer. if with the 'sole important' player missing, and all barca's mishaps the team is still struggling, that should indicate to those in charge that we can't use the "these players won 3 straight UCLs" excuse anymore
i think the expectations are taking into account barcelona's form more than anything else. when your rival drops points and you don't capitalize (which has happened on many occasions this season) it feels like a blow to the gut

This is true, but its not wrong for the fans to believe that the team should beat midtable teams in La Liga at the very least, especially when Barca and Atletico are handing over the title on a silver platter.

Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
We can lose points against anyone. Most likely against Sevilla, Atletico, Villarreal, Espanyol (they are fighting relegation and will give 800 % instead of the usual 500 % to take points off of Barca). But basically any away game is a potential draw/loss.
No one really scores goals anymore for Barca, including Messi.

Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
11 matches left, far too early to conclude anything as I foresee this season to be one of the closest title races we've observed in La Liga in recent times. What is certain is that both team will drop points the way they are playing and refereeing decisions can have a big impact on the title race.
Barcelona seem to have a slightly more difficult schedule, and with Madrid pretty much out of CL, I expect Barça's small squad to suffer more from fatigue due to midweek CL matches in the next few round (I expect them to go through against Napoli).
All of which will make it even funnier if Barça end up actually winning La Liga. Or in better words, Madrid losing La Liga

Re: La Liga 19/20 - The new Era
Real need to be shamed if they dont win the league this season Still believe they will win it, we are just too shit and have had too many problems to win it. If Real get knocked out of CL it would be certain for them since they can focus on the league, while we look like continuing in the CL.

No worries, we will get kicked out too
The only thing Barca has going for them is the coronavirus since their only hope is for all games to be suspended

In case the ongoing Coronavirus situation worsens, La Liga authorities along with RFEF will decide the league champion of this season. [sport]

A player of Real Madrid's basketball team has been tested positive for coronavirus. All Real Madrid football and basketball players must now remain at home, in quarantine, for two weeks as the two teams share the same sporting facilities. [cope]
