Re: Expectations for 19/20 Season
Went with just barely making top 4 and no trophies.
We need good defensive structure if we want to win the EL because we will no doubt run into tricky opposition in the latter stages of the competition.

Re: Expectations for 19/20 Season
Our offence is outstanding and I feel like having a winger like Pepe should allow our team to play to its strengths more (Ozil/Mkhi can play behind the front line giving us 3 in MF and attack should be more fluent overall). Our defence is still very questionable but we should generally be stronger and frankly, last year we should have had top 4 but for mental weakness at the tail end of the campaign when the players appeared to think that they had already achieved our targets.
When you consider that our rivals for 3rd & 4th have mostly weakened, I see no reason that top 4 should be difficult to achieve. Man Utd is close to potentially selling two of its best players in exchange for some lower league overpriced British talent, and Chelsea has lost its best player and replaced him with unproven young talent; also, both of these clubs have rookie managers who were appointed for emotional reasons. Spurs signed Ndombele but they've lost Trippier and may lose Eriksen too, and none of the big attacking names that they're chasing seem to want to join such a joke of a club, which leads me to believe that they are also going to be weaker.
City and Liverpool haven't noticeably strengthened but they were already incredibly strong so they are likely beyond our reach, but it can absolutely be a big year to close the gap.

Re: Expectations for 19/20 Season
i think 76-77 are safety numbers to get top four Guaranteed but i still would like to set the target to reach 80 pts mark and think its achievable
home performances were down last season, 15-16 wins at home and 9-10 away wins plus few draws
even if we lose all top 6 clashes away plus a couple of others vs 7-10th placed teams 80 points is still possible
then comes this diabolical stat of being 11th for shots per game which needs to improve badly
think Pepe can be big help once he settles esp for away days
would have been more confident for big/tricky away games if we had added another dynamic midfielder who responds well to high intensity situations
still expecting to see change between back 3/back 4 for from game to game but hopefully back 4 more often once Bellerin/Tierney fully fit
don't want to think about Europa league for now but going out early is certainly better than losing in semis or final since it doesn't bring prestige or much money
still worried how squad will be managed between competitions

Re: Expectations for 19/20 Season
My expectations are a top 4 finish and/or the EL trophy. If Emery fails to meet these expectations, I'd like to see someone else try in 2020.

Re: Expectations for 19/20 Season
My expectations are a title challenge followed by EL challenge.
But 3rd/4th should be fine too i guess. EL is a must though.
This is Emery's real team compared to last season. He is bringing in the kids, brought in new players and new defenders. We can't excuse him for Wenger's mess anymore.
But i trust him.

Re: Expectations for 19/20 Season
It's #NoExcuses for top four this season. United and Chelsea look their weakest in years.
Ceballos and Pepe should help improve our away form, since they can take players on. Iwobi was the only guy who could do that last season. Getting Holding and Bellerin back should help, too.
As for the big games, Liverpool and City away are the only games I'd be okay with losing. It's about time they started winning at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge tbh. And naturally, winning at Spurs' new ground is an obligation this season.

Do you guys think Özil will be on the bench at the start of the season?

Arsenal twitter are known to be the most fickle thing out there.
Wait for the complete opposite turn of opinions when we inevitably draw 0-0 or lose 1-0 to Newcastle this weekend

He will start almost certainly. But aside from Aubameyang I wouldn’t trust any other Arsenal player as a FPL manager.

Özil is pretty cheap though. Choice between Fraser and Özil at the same price, I chose Özil
