Move on from Ramos
Ramos last season?
Ramos is turning 33 in a couple of days, and his contract expires in june 2020. His relationship with Perez has been very poor over the past few years, even though they have maintained good appearances publicly.
Jose Felix Diaz speculated tonight on Elchiringuito that it might be his last season, and De la Morena on Onda Cera did the same a few days ago saying that Perez has been hesitant to renew his contract.
Is it time to move on from Ramos? ill poll this

Re: Ramos last season?
Maybe. Maybe not. It's a hard question. I always look at possible replacements... if it's going to be a CR situation where you expect Nacho and some castilla kid to fill his shoes next season, then it's resounding NO. But if you actually sign a top CB (we need to sign a good one anyhow mind you), then probably YES.
Who's out there? Lucas Hernandez would be fantastic if we can get him. He refused us 2 years ago (we signed his brother instead) per his own words (https://en.as.com/en/2019/02/08/football/1549617258_241754.html)... but he made it sound like it was a timing decision.

Re: Ramos last season?
In all honesty, next season should be his last season and Vallejo taking up the mantle alongside Varane. However, Ramos isn't exactly long in the tooth and still is in great physical shape...somehow. Also, Vallejo is not cutting the mustard so there is that as well. I voted no as I really feel it's time to move on from the old guard but Ramos looks like he'll be here for a while.
I don't mind personally, my love for Ramos is real...so is my hate. He also is an experienced defender and that has its weight in gold.

Didn't Lucas agree to join Bayern next summer for something like 70m? Could be wrong.
Regarding Ramos leaving, I think it is a tough ask because CBs with technical ability are in high demand- so who would want to pay that much for him? And what is Perez willing to take for his price? Even though he is in his 30's he hasn't really declined Imo.
Personally I don't see it happening. I don't think we would get the price we would want for him. Doubt we could get someone who could immediately come in and do a job like we would want, plus Ramos has an insane amount of power here at Madrid, he doesn't seem the type of person to give that up.
Overall, I think because we are in such a bad situation every conflict is put under a microscope. We get a proper manager who can manage a dressing room, and a few signings to appease everyone and these issues largely go away imo.

So is it a question of who is out there then?
i can name a few young players who are interesting to look at like Skriniar; i was very impressed by De Ligt (Deez had warned me); Lucas...

Re: Ramos last season?
Lucas and Bayern may have agreed contract terms but Bayern and Atleti hasn't agreed to anything. But let's be real, Lucas won't come here since we pretty much disregarded his brother lol. But there are other young defenders that can grow into the role, the problem is that, as Deez mentioned, Ramos has serious pull at the club. He also is an experienced defender at this level, that is huge.

Ramos is finished at 33 the same way Icardi is a useless poacher. Also, who is "all of your metrics"?

Re: Ramos last season?
If he does go, I only see 2 great replacements in De Ligt and Skriniar. Hernandez also but if Marcelo leaves I would not mind seeing Lucas play LB

Re: Ramos last season?
Ramos can leave. He 33, his leadership will be missed tho.
But where would he go? Psg?
The euros are next summer too. Didn't think he'd risk it. He can lose his place in Spain despite being captain.

Re: Ramos last season?
Lots of teams actually need a CB, the most likely are PSG or ManU, but Spurs need 1, Arsenal need 2 probably, Juve probably need 1, Atletico need 1.
As for the Euros, Ramos isn't risking anything. He's a lock for the national team as Spain don't have many good CBs and he is captain. He's competing with the likes of Hermoso, Bartra, Martinez, and Albiol.
No chance Ramos loses his place, plus the teams he's rumored to will all be fine. It's not like he's going to the MLS or China, and even then..

Re: Ramos last season?
He’s not leaving! This is all about him falling down the salary ladder. behind Bale ( who likely will collect his while playing golf for the season), Hazard, Pogba and Mbappe! And who knows maybe even Benzema (he’s reportedly asking for an increase as well).
These new guys coming, specifically Pogba and Mbappe (acknowledging it won’t be this year) will likely get double what Ramos is currently earning.
