Re: Ajax v Real Madrid
This is why I don't like small defenders. You need to bully strikers with size, Nacho can't do that

you have an away goal, in this case, two goals away from home, you have the win away from home. you are basically one foot into the quarters. better to miss the game at home, where ajax would need to score at least 2 (and keep us from scoring), than to miss a potentially tougher quarter final leg

Sure but we also can lose 3-2 and we'll be looking at Ramos' suspension with all the anger in the world. To me, it screams of unnecessary arrogance.

Re: Ajax v Real Madrid
what i find foolish are his comments of "i'd be lying if i said i didn't force it". football associations in general have taken a tough stand towards these kinds of situations and ramos of all people should know that considering his history. if the clown had kept his mouth shut, he would actually be in a good position to fight any disciplinary action, and thus not miss a potentially tougher match.

NO. if you drop 3 goals to ajax at home, you can't blame a ramos suspension on that. we are not playing some legendary team, we should be able to handle this, no problem. (i was actually upset at how we played the first leg, i expected us to really whoop them).
we both know ramos very well, the man is a walking yellow card waiting to happen, and a red card is only a phone call away. there are 6 games to play in europe, you really think ramos can go on without getting one more card? even ramos knows this, that card looming over his head totally alters his game. i was happy with the move, but disappointed he spoke about it. he should have just said something like i didn't do it on purpose, i don't want to miss any games....they'd have a tough time proving that
i mean its not like the mourinho dudek casillas situation. lol that was super comical, and i feel its that game (ironically also against ajax, i remember how pissed suarez was), that really made uefa and other football associations clamp down on these kinds of system manipulations

Re: Ajax v Real Madrid
Considering how Ajax played Tito and how we defended against the high press, I would like a full strength side at our disposal.

I agree with tito. There's absolutely no excuse to lose to Ajax, let alone at home. And beating them shouldn't be a source of pride, it should be a routine win. The fact that Marca is celebrating the win shows how low Madrid's expectations have fallen recently.
I expect Madrid to whoop their Dutch asses at The Bernabeu. If they don't, they should drive until the reach the desert and bury themselves there.

I'll give the team a pass on Wednesdays performance because of the week they've had. But if they come up with a similar performance in 2 weeks they can all feck off

Ramos charged for picking up a deliberate yellow. Maybe he'll learn to keep his mouth shut next time
Now more than ever if we get past Ajax we need Porto. Come on whoever's doing the draw, make it happen

Even Madrid is not that lucky. After Ajax we'll get City.

If not the QF, it'll be the semis we'll get KO. This squad ain't winning no CL, no way. Especially having this dope of a manager.

I'm not doubting the possibility of it happening. I thought we looked relatively underwhelming at times, before the semi finals of last season and the season before that, and we still pulled through somehow. It's not like anyone gives a shit, or even remembers that CR had to provide us with a one man army performance against Wolfsburg, in order to compensate for the 0-2 deficit and get us through what was expected to be an easy fixture, two seasons ago. Not to mention the freak accidents by opposing goalies, and everything else that has gone our way in recent years. We can do this. The god of CL loves us more than anyone

We are due a five-peat to equal the best run in our history. Wonder what the millenials will think of that in 20 years if it happens

Due to history having a serious tendency of repeating itself, Barcelona had one of their best periods during the 5 in a row all those years ago. So, who knows (I do know, we ain't winning no CL).

I still think we'll win the CDR though. Just a hunch.
A meaningless trophy if you ask me, but I think it's still enough for Florentino to have an excuse not to replace those who need replacing.

Evidently, that "hunch" was just trapped gas.
On a more serious note, our dearly beloved captain has been handed a one-match ban for a deliberate yellow and will miss the quarter final first leg should we get past Ajax.
Ramos, you beauty

I'm gonna go out on a whim and say that Ramos has never been known for his intelligence, neither on the pitch, nor off it

Scratch that. It's a two-game ban according to Marca, and not one as I initially thought.
That means he'll miss both legs of the quarter final. We should all be proud

Re: Ajax v Real Madrid
Uefa is wrong punishing players for suspicious yellows imo. most of the time there is no way to tell if a player gets a yellow on purpose or not. unless the player is as stupid as Ramos lmao.

2 matches including the return leg against Ajax, no? So he misses 1 QF game....The Demon of Carthage wrote:Scratch that. It's a two-game ban according to Marca, and not one as I initially thought.

Sergio ramos is the definition of an idiot. I said at the time that the comment was unnecessary. Like who just goes out and blabs about forcing the foul/card, like the sort of foolishness that goes on boggles my mind

That so called son of mine has admassed quite a fortune through astute investments off the the pitch, so Thimmy I don’t accept your “off the pitch statement.
