Paraguay makes Copa Final, in spite of not winning any game yet

What a frakking dirty game. It seems everyone's against Venezuela just for being a "small" side.

Re: Paraguay makes Copa Final, in spite of not winning any game yet
sums it up about this copa, like i said in the beginning of copa, this was never been a serious competetion. You could find 2 or 3 U-23 teams within the only 16 team ,not to say Brazil were experimenting their squad and they showed no intentions to bring the copa to brazil ,from the start.
where is the quality of football some one promised?

first of all im not a brzil fan.why on earth brazil played with ganso, neymar and pato as attackers? It was almost a U-23 team.Any one can see brazil were trying to build for WC,and they took this copa as serious as mexico took this tournament, slighly more may be.Lionel Messi wrote:That's an awful excuse, honestly.Adit wrote:sums it up about this copa, like i said in the beginning of copa, this was never been a serious competetion. You could find 2 or 3 U-23 teams within the only 16 team ,not to say Brazil were experimenting their squad and they showed no intentions to bring the copa to brazil ,from the start.

Re: Paraguay makes Copa Final, in spite of not winning any game yet
kaka is miles better than ganso.Filipe melo is better destroyer than lucas and ramires combined.Hulk is better than neymar or even robinho.Marcelo is miles better than andres santos.Hernanes is better than any of the midfielders they had in the copa.Lionel Messi wrote:Yup, Thiago Silva Lucio Dani Alves Maicon Julio Cesar Lucas Leiva are all under 23Adit wrote:first of all im not a brzil fan.why on earth brazil played with ganso, neymar and pato as attackers? Agreed with Nick. International competitions have not been going so great, take a look at South Africa 2010.

Re: Paraguay makes Copa Final, in spite of not winning any game yet
Dont compare World CUp to this shity tournament please. In south africa teams played conservatively, japan,USA etc performed wonderful defensive football. They were organized teams, brazil, spain, germany, holland all were highly organized teams.
In copa all we can see is all teams playing random crap football except argentina who were behind tiki taka fail. There is a diference between defensive boring football and random football.

Re: Paraguay makes Copa Final, in spite of not winning any game yet
Frankly, football have been declining steadily as the stakes are getting higher. For example, this year CL. Only the Inter matches were exciting to watch, which tells you a lot. It was exciting for the neutrals, and Schalke, but not Inter fans.
All the other teams would play a tactical lock-down match. Then they will wait for one magical moment, or one major error, to decide the match.
Case study; the Clasicos:
first match, a tactical showdown with ugly antics all around. Red card, Barca attack, still slow, two magical moments from Messi, match.
second match, tactical showdown, etc.
Now more than ever, referee decisions affect games majorly. Fifa's insistence on promoting attacking football backfired. Because defending became more difficult, teams now will simply put more defenders instead of employing better tactics. In tournaments, you can always go on penalties.
The myth that club tournaments are better is just that, a myth. We still see major clubs trounce smaller ones. The matches between major clubs are mostly tactical (Leonardo's teams are the exception to the rule). In fact, the teams with the more "exciting matches" are the ones that don't win anything, see Arsenal for proof.
Also, saying the quality of the Copa is low because the favorites got knocked out is ridicilous. The favorites should not expect to steam roll through opposition. Brazil and Argentina should have played better. Neymar is no Pele, and Messi is no Maradona. So frakking what. Where was their teams.

Re: Paraguay makes Copa Final, in spite of not winning any game yet
Shitty tournament? Sorry the favorites don't always pass and everyone has a chance. That's what you get for having a lot of quality teams.
While the quality of football wasn't what most people expected, we're in the age of tactical, grinding matches and teamwork. You can see that everywhere. I'm sure wiggles or any sort of fan of that sort of football would appreciate it. I don't mind it, even if it sometimes pisses people off.
Paraguay don't really deserve to be in the final, agreed, but they played to their strengths and pulled it off. Today was disgraceful, though. Not even Larissa's tits can make up for it. I hope they suffer a painful defeat against Uruguay (who you have to admit have been playing sexy football).
