Well he impressed and then we have guys like Vazquez who get regular playing time who looked levels below the opponent

My gut is telling me guys like Vinicius, Odri, Regui, and Llorente have no chance of getting substantial minutes when a serious game comes along, but I really hope I am wrong.

Vinicius is so good. I'm obviously getting way ahead of myself, and this is against a slop CDR team, but the guy looks like 18 y/o Neymar.

If Vinicius is as good as some of you claim him to be then he'll have no problem breaking into the first team and dominating there.

With Solari as head coach, he'll definitely get more playing time with the big boys. So let's hope he makes the best out of this opportunity and convinces even the most skeptics that he's actually as good as the hype surrounding him.

I think I have a realistic outlook on what Ødegaard is capable of, but I honestly believe he'd offer more than what Asensio is offering currently. He's still being forced to play on the wings, as opposed to AM, but his productivity is better and his work rate is far superior. Last match for Vitesse:



Either way, we definitely need to give Asensio some competition. Perhaps this is a good opportunity to ease Vinicius into the first team? It's better than using Isco or one of our other midfielders as a makeshift, backup LW. Hell, even Asensio is a damn midfielder. He doesn't have the qualities to play on the left wing on a consistent basis. Even if we're not chasing Hazard, surely we can bring in a more reasonable backup for competition's sake? That's, of course, if Vinicius is out of the question.

We need more movement in final third. we need someone to keep defenders busy.

instead of giving time to Lucas who will not get better than this we should give time to our talented 18 year old.

Asensio is in the worst form of his life, it's not hard to offer more than that. But we have all seen what Asensio can do. It's only fair that we see if a coaching change fixes his form, because this season is night and day differences from last season.

Lol, I know, hence the getting ahead of myself. BUT Vinicius is looking a beast of himself too. And one thing I think people are forgetting is that Neymar waited until he was 21 to move to Europe. He was known at 18, but just as it was hard to judge what Vincius was doing in Brazil, it was hard to judge what Neymar was doing in Brazil until about age 20 when he really really started blowing up. So the kid has time and he has all the tools to be a top player technique, power, pace, composure.. We will see if the decision making catches up, but that is something that comes with experience and coaching.

Sure, but I still think he's in a bit too much of a safe position right now, and that's never helped anyone improve. As much as some people like to think that Benzema was world class up until just recently, he went through extended periods of poor form after Higuaín left the club - and I don't think he looked truly world class until that one season under Ancelotii. Asensio doesn't look like a natural winger, to me, but that's where he's playing at the moment, so it can't hurt to keep him on his toes. We do need a backup winger, anyway.
