That being said, Monaco is actually playing worse with him in charge.

Re: Thierry Henry sack watch
The job was too big for him, he had to know that if Jardim can‘t get any respect out of that dressing room, how could he with zero experience of managing a dressing room?
I just hope he isn‘t discouraged enough to give up on managing. He should start at a lower division club first and move up if he can.

Re: Thierry Henry sack watch
He certainly is dreadful, but if I were a Monaco fan I wouldn't let his dreadfulness distract me from looking at the bigger picture.
The main focus should be on the owner. The one who's selling their best players like cotton candy and blaming his managers for not living up to his disproportionate expectations. If any head should roll first, it should be his. Monaco could keep hiring and firing all the managers working today and their problem won't be solved until they solve their selling policy.
If you want to be a selling club, it's fine. But don't put expectations on your manager that far exceed the quality of the players you're providing them with. That would be unfair and dishonest.

That's often how it works, though. Taking over a club that's heading towards relegation, is a thankless job. I'm sure Henry was prepared that he would be used as a scapegoat, if he didn't manage to miraculously turn the ship around.

Hahaha Henry is so shit, he took that job with the worst smug attitude I have ever seen. Well deserved sacking, what a joke

Re: Thierry Henry sack watch
Thierry Henry’s suspension as Monaco coach pending a final decision is merely procedural - he has been sacked and has left the club. A statement is expected from Henry in due course. His predecessor Leonardo Jardim is set to return - hearing deal has already been done #ASMonaco

Well that didn't last long a record of 5-4-11 with a horrendous -21 goal difference

Where? Don't know why Sky would be taking him back. It would look embarrassing and he wasn't that good anyway.
To be honest he deserves this, imo. The guy takes on a comfy job as a pundit without being talented for that and then gets to manage a semi-fancy club like Monaco for his first managerial job. About time he has to prove himself post-player.

If he was smart he should take this lesson and grab the next job he can get as an assistant manager under a proper manager who understands tactics. The Monaco job under the conditions he was faced with was obviously too soon, everyone knew it except him and Monaco.

Re: Thierry Henry sack watch
I love Henry the player and personality but as a coach and even as an assistant he seemed to have this general air of consistently wanting to come across non-chalant in his approach thereby clearly not getting his hands dirty.
It reflected in his body language, dress sense, press conferences and him on the sidelines overall with his rather passive decisions.
Such an image can ONLY be produced if you are a Pep Guardiola where your pedigree in managing is unquestionable and you have the victories to back your stoicism.
Otherwise I am sure not many feel sorry for his sacking.
He is intelligent as a person clearly so I see him learning.

Re: Thierry Henry sack watch
Should've started with a much smaller club so he can make these mistakes with far less scrutiny. He may be a legendary player, but he's absolutely not ready for the pressure that comes with coaching a top level club like Monaco. I feel pretty bad for him and the players as well.

Meanwhile, Viera has quietly gotten Nice into a very respectable position of 8th playing what I can only describe as sensible football.

Re: Thierry Henry sack watch
Vieira did the sensible thing and cut his teeth in low pressure environments like City's youth teams and MLS. He might not have learned much about the tactical side of the game in America, but he did learn how to manage and motivate senior professional players, which is half the job.
Whatever qualities Henry has a coach, starting out with a team in the relegation zone, a load of injuries to senior players and other players criminally underperforming was too big a job too soon. That's the sort of job you get Pulis or Allardyce for, not new coaches just starting out. It's a situation that requires a specific mindset that only people who thrive as underdogs and doing gritty work will thrive in. Henry is clearly not that guy.
Maybe he'll find success else where but the problem he'll have now is that this stain his CV.

Yea way over his head for ever starting out with this job.
Hope he learns and gets the opportunity to restart out somewhere smaller.
