Yeah, that sort of is the way it usually goes for him.
Good pace to this game.

El Paco coming on, Game - Set - Match.
Sabitzer should have scored a few minutes ago to tie this up, Red Bull look like they may have a goal in them, but I cant underestimate the presence of El Paco.
Before I jinx it, I will say BVB did quite well considering who they were missing. Wiegl did well enough as a centre back.

It would be so incredibly beautiful if Stuttgart could get relegated again

Re: The Bundesliga Thread (18/19)
Dortmund - Hannover (Sa.) 5:1 (1:0)
Reus coes back and BVB glide to an easy win. Jadon, Reus, Axel and even Goetze looked good, granted it was against soon to be relegated hannover.
Gladbach - Augsburg 2:0 (0:0)
Apparently the score flatters gladbach.
Wolfsburg - Leverkusen 0:3 (0:1)
The Pretenders win with "who is the Bosz" for the first time
Freiburg - Hoffenheim 2:4 (1:1)
Mainz - Nürnberg 2:1 (1:1)
I guess Nurnberg is the other team to be relegated.
Bremen v Frankfurt should be a high scoring affair. I thought that some WWEpl teams would be raiding the Frankfurt attack players.
I like to think that the big Dortmund win will put pressure on Bayern, except that Bayern host the other relegation team tomorrow and should win easily.

@elfmeter, what's your take on Berlin? Our boy Grujić seems to be doing well.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread (18/19)
He did score yesterday, Have not seen enough of him to make any comment. I always thought Ibisevic was an underrated striker/finisher.
Hertha is one of those teams that could find their way to an Europa spot, maybe? They seem to have a nice mix of players now. It is nice to see Kalou still playing, but I think they used to rely on him too much. I always thought it was a shame that Berlin have never had a good team.

They had a decent team in the 90s, made CL couple of times too.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread (18/19)
Harnik starts the play but Maxi Eggestein does the hard work and pirouettes the Frankfurt defenders to give Werder the early led. Have to assume more goals to come.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread (18/19)
Have to assume Rebic will be off to a bigger club in the near future, kind of surprised he is not among the transfer rumours now, 1-1 and I can see more coming. Outside of the giveaway that led to the goal, been happy with how Werder are playing.

The Great Martin Harnik does it again and gives Werder the lead, but like before, probably more goals to come.

Was not expecting any different from VfB, so not surprised. Would have liked to see Davies come on for 20 mins.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread (18/19)
Leipzig have a decent team, they should beat the likes of Fortuna easily, they just rarely do.
Was watching the Handball WC final (congrats to the Danes), so missed most of this game, but I see Forsberg is playing. that is a good thing for them, they dont have a big enough squad to compete in the Bundesliga and Euro.
Unlike most Germans, I dont hate the plastic teams, so I would like to see them do well.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread (18/19)
We somehow managed to survive the Polar Vortex, praise Jebu!!!! Thank god, our lives can return to normal now.
Gotta say, the Man is showing a lot of Bundesliga on tv this weekend, starting today with the Friday night game between Hannover and Red Bull.
Hannover - Leipzig (Fr.)
Like all Bundesliga teams nowadays, Red Bull have signed (on loan) a young English player and like all young Englishmen, he has three names, Emile Smith Rowe. ALso, like all Bundesliga teams they have signed a young player from MLS, Tyler Adams, who apparently is a "young rare talent".
Hannover have a new coach, well an old coach in Thomas Doll, who has managed all sorts of teams since leaving Dortmund 10 years ago. From Saudi to Turkey to Hungaria. I think East German coaches are rare? I wonder if he will drive his Trabi to work?
Frankfurt - Dortmund
Unfourtantely not the live tv game on the Icberg, the Man always shows Bayern games. Frankfurt and BVB did some business during the Winter break, Rode going from Dortmund to Frankfurt on loan. At one time Rode was the next big thing. BVB signed a young Argie defender.
Leverkusen - Bayern
This will be the tv game and I stupidly will convince myself that the Pretenders will not collapse as usual and beat Bayern. They are without Neuer, who hurt his hand schuplatlering.
Hoffenheim - Düsseldorf
The Hoff signed a young Brazilian centre back, the new Lucio. Fortuna signed a bunch of players including Bremen's third string back up keeper.
Hertha - Wolfsburg
Hertha and Wolfsburg did nothing during the transfer window.
Nürnberg - Bremen
I dont know what was the biggest signing of the winter transfer window. I am hoping it is Werder's new young Austrian attacking Midfeilder Romano Schmid.
Schalke - Gladbach
The man will be showing the late game live as well. Should be interesting, though maybe not, Schalke seem to be a lost team. There is a new Rabbi at schalke, a Welsh Rabbi form Manchester.
Augsburg - Mainz
The Sunday games are all Relegation games, or at least should be. I think Augsburg have been around for a long enough time. Time for them to take their scrappy football back to the 2nd div.
Stuttgart - Freiburg
VfB are loaning Ebeneezer Ofori to New York City FC in the MLS. I just wanted to type the name Ebenezer.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread (18/19)
Not a happy ending to the half for Thomas Doll. A last minute PK gives Red Bull the lead.
Though Leipzig should win this, they lose every second week, so this could end up well for Doll.

Apparently Werner missed out today due to illness.
As for Thomas Doll and New Manager Effect, it is not working today.
