There were a couple things holding bucks back

1) a center
2) a real coach
3) more shooting

We addressed #2. We picked up Ersan, Lopez, and a shooter in the draft for #3, as well as Sterling Brown (good shooter) is a year along too. None of them are lights out, but is it a substantial improvement on what we had? Yeah.

Is Giannis improving as a shooter every year? Yeah. "Can't shoot a lick" isn't really right. He's developed a semi respectable jumper. He's clearly still getting there though.

So the elephant in the room was #1. Which is why I was upset about Randle. But this fixes all. I'm not overestimating Lopez's ability, I'm being realistic about how BAD our center situation was.

Henson is trash and can't shoot outside of layups. Zeller is Zeller. Thon is a project who still needs to bulk and fouls so much he can't stay on the floor.

Lopez is a decent defender at least and he can box out which is huge for us. Our centers were among the worst I've ever seen at boxing out. With the likes of Giannis and Lopez, as well as another bigger body in Ersan, I can't see rebounding being as big of an issue as it was. Rebounds lost us the playoffs this past year.

He can also shoot and space the floor. That's huge for us in terms of putting a center on the court with Giannis who can contribute but also not clog up the lane.

Even if it's not the same Brook Lopez that was on the Nets, its so much better than what we have now it's incredible. He's still quite a decent player.

All at $3.4 million

I get that CB I just think he doesn't help enough defensively to make any real difference imo.

You rightly should be excited though, I know what getting good coaching after not having it feels like

Defensively I trust the Bucks under good coaching tbh. The team is so long that under a coach with a clue, I think Bucks will be fine.

I say that while admitting that it's very possible Bucks players just don't have a great IQ and defensively are unaware/have bad habits that can't be broken. I mean, I'm definitely assuming a lot when I assume that a new coach will mean we'll get it together.

That's the hope though. Personnel wise there is no reason why Bucks can't be solid defensively. Lopez is already a big step up in our weakest defensive position (and the most important)

Beginning to think we'll sign Luc Mbah as our last spot

Could see Zubac getting a lot of minutes. Don't know how I feel about that. Atleast he looks stronger and fitter this year.

This off-season has been a big pile of shit. Melo would be kinda acceptable if we kept Luc at least but no, now we return to the 2016 team in one single move.

I still have nightmares of last years playoffs and KD shooting over Jrue like a chair because we had no wing despite the fact we kept Klay and Steph in check.

All I'm interested in atm is trying to acquire a wing if we can, I'm still not sure about the PG situation but I know one thing

Luckily our team is pretty well-suited for that right now.

Rondo is the only one of 14 players below 6'5 right now.

Luckily we are getting close to having some cap flexibility at last, this is probably the last season where it's a struggle and it might not even last the entire season depending on if we can do certain trades or not.
