He isn't out according to my sources. He was diagnosed with rupture of a muscle fiber at first but MRT showed he has got a single, small hematoma in his calf. He might be 80-90% come Friday so don't count your chicken before:D

It's a minimum 10 day injury Babs... with a very high chance of serious injury if you come back earlier. It's muscular. I actually hope he plays with that. He can't run with it and movement is his entire game.

Losing to a Ronaldo less Portugal to losing to a half injured Cavani Uruguay. Please let this happen.

Reading that Suarez has picked up an injury in training and may miss the game, in addition to Cavani who's pretty much confirmed out.
Wow, would be such a bummer.
Tavarez gotta park that bus for 120 minutes and go for penos, if that's the case.

Park the bus champions... as respected and remembered as the Chelsea CL run and Greece winning the Euro.

Think if any one out of Cavani or Suarez is out then they got no hope at all apart from to PTB and hope for pens or a goal from Godin at set pieces

To be fair, 10 million men and women would remember the Euro win for Portugal and around the same for Greece. Which is a lot if you think about it.
I agree with the Chelsea one, no one remembers that.

You know....I dont think France can break them down if they come out and park the bus really. I dont think the quality is there.

I think France have plenty of quality, enough to challenge Uruguay's defense certainly
The problem they have is a lack of cohesion and chemistry to bring that quality to bear. That's on DD.
He really shouldn't be still trying to figure this out so deep in the tournament. Poor organization and tactical understanding.

Re: WC 2018 | Uruguay v France | Quarter Finals
It should be a lot better with Matuidi out against PTB sides. Matuidi is great at finding space in open play... not so much in tight spaces. Tolisso and Lemar are the ones to take over for him. It will depend on how much DD wants us to attack. I'd personally go for Lemar as he has more wiggle to him... need that creative passing coming out the midfield. Pogba alone is not enough.
My worry with that is it puts a lot more defensive pressure on Pogba in the midfield. With Tolisso, he's very well covered.
We'll see. My guess is that it will be Tolisso.
Giroud will have a big part to play. He needs to have a good game.

Seems like Cavani didn't make it. France all the way.

Looks like Tolisso is playing LW so Griezmann can play behind Giroud. Pogba's next to Kante in a double pivot.

Why the hell is an Argentinian referee leading an Uruguay game in WC quarters? Isn't that a bit close?

Huge chance for Mbappe. Didn't realise how much time he had to take the ball down.
Lots of fouls already. Uruguay are going to make this as scrappy as possible.

1-0 France. Varane heads in a free-kick from Griezmann.
Now France can sit back and hit counters, just like they want to.

Now a top save from Lloris to keep Caceres out. Godin then misses the follow-up.
