Are you drunk?
Home nation, team that completely destroyed Argentina and you even dared to include the England team that is bringing football home?

Aye...I find it hilarious that people think Spain will have a field day on Sunday.
Sunday it'll be rainy AF in Moscow (90% precipitation, definitely not the sort of weather and atmosphere friendly to Spain team), 80k loud fans in the stadium, cooler weather (allows Russia to do their pressing and running game easier compared to hot weathers in the south) , and not to mention the 2 teams drew 3-3 in a friendly a few months ago.
And even if Spain win that....we all know what happened last time they played Croatia.
Another garbage thread just like the "groupstage don't interest me" one.

Re: Knockout brackets discussion
On paper it looked a lot more difficult for Spain before the world cup started... could have possibly gotten Argentina and Germany if they topped their groups, but of course we've seen what those two teams have done so far.
So no!

He'll always be known as the brackets are too one sided man.
What an unbelievable gimmick.

Re: Knockout brackets discussion
Only if you go by names and not performance. Argentina was 2nd because they deserved to be 2nd. Germany is out because they played terribly.
Anyways, Spain has a clear road to the final even though they did not impress in the group stages. Best chance for a cinderella team like croatia/belgium that they'll ever get.

Definitely , it's now or never for Belgium ( or England ) to reach the final ( as Croatia will meet Spain in the semis ).

It's not too bad for France... the team formerly known as Argentina, Portugal/Uruguay, Brazil and Spain in the final.
It could be worse.

Re: Knockout brackets discussion
Its just luck of the draws and the results ending up with the current brackets. Spain is the favourites on this side of it which is easier than the other side I agree, but Belgium/England/Croatia, etc., all very strong as well.
Anyway, really loving this WC

Let me claify it a bit for you Sports,
Argentina, then Uruguay then Brasil before you get a chance against us! That of course is very dependent that both of us play up to talent level and our respective poor coaches don’t screw it up! Big IFs.
Basically you have to rely on the age old saying that the best of South America can’t win in Europe!
And I have to hope that I can tell these British GL posters that the cup isn’t coming home!

Just wait a little bit, their reality check is coming very soon! They better hope they don't get Colombia next because it could be the end of their journey.

Re: Knockout brackets discussion
Colombia unreal hype for a team which couldn't beat Japan just because they beat an awful Poland team.
Senegal concern me more than they do.

Re: Knockout brackets discussion
They did play basically the entire game with 10 men though and James not fit to start
But yeah, have to agree with my brother mole here. The mighty England would be favoured against most teams

Re: Knockout brackets discussion
So unfortunately Germany disappointed all of us and didn't give us a rematch for the 7-1 we all needed, but we still have a few tasty Conmebol vs UEFA matches coming around
Uruguay - Portugal
France - Argentina
England - Colombia
Who will pull through?
I envision Conmebol winning this 2-1, with Uruguay, France and Colombia through.

It's a similar path to Real Madrid in CL this season... everyone talked about how vulnerable and beatable Madrid looked. But they played the best and managed to beat them all one way or another.
That's the path for France if they make it. Even if we go out, it won't be to an inferior team.
Honestly, I couldn't ask for more. Winning is great. But winning like this would be majestic. Not saying that we will... but well worth the watch.

Agree with Sports, the team that makes it past the first 4 will be a team of champion mentality, nothing will stop it.
