Re: Vinicius Jr
Transitional periods don't come from hiring/firing managers, it usually comes from players moving on. When Barca lost Xavi, and as Iniesta got older, they have certainly had to transition to a more direct style.
For us it will be similar to when Barca lost Pep/Xavi/Iniesta. Our manager left, Ronaldo left, our cornerstone players are getting old (Modric, Ramos, Marcelo, Benzema (lol), Bale) there is no way around it. It will be a transitional period whether we like it or not. It is impossible to replace like for like- particularly with Ronaldo.

Re: Vinicius Jr
it's a matter of context- transition should mean that we understand the situation at hand, and since we understand the situation at hand we should expect this to be a 'charge it to the game' season, and build from that....well, i don't think flo, nor even madrid fans see it that way. transition doesn't automatically mean lose the league or go trophyless. madrid is a club with the least patience so the terminologies like 'transition', 'work in progress', 'patience'. do not always work here. especially not for coaches. vinicius hasn't even kicked a ball yet in a game and we're already talking about what he can improve.

Re: Vinicius Jr
which is why i said last season was our "transition", we can't afford back to back "charge it to the game" type seasons; new players or not

Re: Vinicius Jr
A transitional year doesn't have to be bad, but expectations should be tempered. When teams end a successful cycle (as we did), they tend to need a year or 2 or more to rebuild and bring themselves back to a high level of success. That is just reality, and watching years of football has shown.
We are lucky that we still have so many world class and potentially world class players to ease the gap. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended trophyless this season, I just want to see an improvement in play and an identity/ style of play so that attacks do not seem so disorganized. I want players to have clear understandings of their roles and I want to see younger players improve over the course of the season. If we get that, and challenge across all competitions while showing a strong case for building something, but come away empty handed, I will still be happy.
If we play poorly and still win major trophies, well, that's pretty much the position we are in now so nothing lost. I wouldn't be upset with that either.

Re: Vinicius Jr
So J Lo confirms he is playing for Castilla this year
Wow. Waste of talent, it's not like our bench is stacked.
J Lo is probably thinking subbing off a attacker for a midfielder is a good tactic

At least, he'll know what it's like to play on some of the worst pitches of grass in Europe. Things can only get better from there Maybe we'll have our own "Pogback" in 5-10 years time.

Re: Vinicius Jr
He said that if Vinicius is not among the 18 that travel to a game then he will be playing with Castilla which makes sense because at least he will get game time one way or another every week. It's a good solution but not a good look.
I hope for Rodrygo that he asks to stay at Santos one year longer and get more time and to come here ready. If you compare to Neymar I think he joined barca when he was something like 20 or 21, a lot more mature as a player with way more games and goals in his database.
It's important to remember that Vincius is just 18 years old, and not everyone is Mbappe or Owen lol

Re: Vinicius Jr
If he is training with the first team I am fine with it, but if he is training with Solari and Castilla that could be detrimental. Solari is soo bad.

He is training with the first team of course, we are not bsnsihing him away to Castilla.
What Castilla should do is get up to Segunda Division like Barca's and stay there lol

Two goals already today. Second one was a banger. Looks too good for the competition, which should be expected.

I can already picture Goal.com/Marca coming up with cheesy headlines like, "veni vidi Vinicius", sometime in the near future.

Re: Vinicius Jr
that guy fouled Vinicius something like 10 times. Absolutely ridiculous and he deserves a suspension. Sadly, that's nothing new for Vinicius, he has been a target most of his pro career

He should be suspended for at least 10 games. That's absolutely disgusting... Who the hell bites an opponent?

Re: Vinicius Jr
The Club should make a formal complain to the league. And Atletico should come out ahead of this and suspend him as well. but i doubt any of that happens

Lmao wtf, Suarez problem or what. The teams seems to have warmed to Vinicious better than Odegaard. Key if he wants to succeed

I assume Nick took in that match so I need to ask: what exactly did Vini did to provoke a bite to the head? Did Vini, I don't know, do the Nazi salute or something? Truly confused as to why he, out of anything he could have done, bit him in the head.

When has one of our players ever bitten someone?
Of course I'd expect a Liverpool fan to defend biting just because it's a habit to them.

yeah because trying to snap legs and elbowing players in the head is not dangerous at all is it.Freeza wrote:Unique wrote:madrid fans crying about dirty players and they love ramos. htg only madrid fans

Re: Vinicius Jr
He was roasting them 1v1, he has got quite a bit of pace you see, and everyone knows he is a big Madrid signing. It's natural players want to show off against him. Not only that, but he scored 2 golazos against them.Doc wrote:I assume Nick took in that match so I need to ask: what exactly did Vini did to provoke a bite to the head? That being said, there are some bad habits in the way he plays football, a lot of things to clean up, and i can understand why Lopetegui sent him there. I think it's just about giving him competitive action for 90 minutes to work on certain things as opposed to playing 10 minutes like Vasquez yesterday.
