The more I see of Vinicius, the more I think he has what it takes. Very early days, but if we are not going to spend the money to purchase a AML or LW (not referring to the goals missed, just positionally), I don't see a problem at all with Vinicius coming off the bench for Asensio, or Isco, whomever may play there.

What a supersub he would be. So much pace, quickness, and intelligence off the ball. I'm loving it so far.

he looks very promising and tactically is where he needs to improve most. He is hugging the touchline too much, that's how he played at Flamengo, but he will become way more dangerous if he plays inside a it more

I'd like to see more of Lunin, not sure why they subbed him in at 63' why not just give him the second half?

Vinicious had a fine game. You could see he was itching to score. Made the wrong choice a few times. I like that he tries though. Can't stand "pass back" wingers. I wish Bale could take players on, he has the speed. He sticks out like a sore thumb with us I believe. I think the 2nd half is what Lope is aspiring to achieve. Press, give and go etc etc. Lunin did really well too. That reflex save was impressive.

Asensio is more intelligent than Isco and it showed the 2nd half.

We've looked much better in the 2nd half. Vinicius also had a good game.
We're closing in on Courtois but I like lunin a little bit. seems like a waste to sign him only to go after courtois

so far here are my thoughts:
Vinicius and Asensio need to see more action.
Midfield needs to sort itself.
Carvajal needs to wake up.

Do not forget we have talented prospects on our team. They can show that they're ready to take the next step. Like I said before, I am not really concerned about our teams prospects of a title or our goalscoring ability. we got the talent to ensure we remain a threat. now lets hope we continue the momentum next game.

the second half outside of the goals was a bit all over the place. I would have like a bit more control but as soon as Kroos came off, we lost it. The Valverde - Llorente combo did not work as well as it did vs United.

Thats because mourinho the fool doesnt know how to use his midfield and Allegri does. We did good considering this is our 2nd game.

Llorente played as a CB for most of the half. I think we focused more on directness in the second half. Lot's of speed which we utilised very well. Then Mayoral came on and we were all over.

Is the hype about Reguilon real?

Never heard of him before preseason. But I've been pleasantly surprised. He is fast, attack minded, ambidextrous I don't know I feel like he can replace Theo without problem. In fact from what I've seen in these two games Reguilon seems to be more mature and further in his development

Once again I didn’t see game as it was past my bedtime. From reading various posts and papers today, i do have some observations.

I’ve seen a lot of criticism of midfield, but you have to recognize, Lopetequi is asking for a completely new tactic and that takes time to develop. Reason you are seen some of the kids show well is that they have played for Lopetequi before.

It looks like Vinicius and Reguilon do have a legitimate chance of staying with first team.

It sure looks like Odegaard will go out on loan again, this time somewhere in la liga (I based this assessment by how little time he is being given.

Given Theo didn’t even get on yesterday tells me his loan deal is going through and Reguilon was given full game to see if he can be Theo’s replacement or do they have to spend money on Telles.

What happened to Vallejo? I would gave expected him to get the minutes Sanchez got?

Looking good are Llorente, Ceballos and Asensio.

Looking bad was Mayoral. Why didn’t de Tomas get some time?

Looking very rusty were Isco and Carvajal.

Overall, even though they lost first game, they did outplay opposition for 2nd half of 1st game plus last night’s game. Lopetequi’s system is slowly starting to evolve (or more correctly being absorbed). Good good stuff, we just need a CF and I’ll be happy.

Yeah... and i do mean it for the good of the kids btw. It's not healthy to have everything you do under the Madrid microscope when you're just learning the ropes. I didn't even want Varane here if you all remember.

Once in a while, a kid can handle it. But most times, it physically scars them and they never evolve.

Let's do the loan with buyback deals with as many of the kids as we can imo... with good clubs. If it's just to send them to some shit destination, then that's a waste of time too;

Some of them will stay:

-Reguilon, is being prepped as replacement for Marcelo with Nacho also there to support. I had mention this idea for the right back position with Achraf but im not sure how i feel about it. I think the staff loves him.

-Valverde and Llorente are competing for a spot in the squad, and Valverde having started the game yesterday looks like he has an advantage.

The rest of the kids, will most likely all go out after the supercup.

Ceballos is midfield Jesus

Ceballos is going to enjoy himself this season, Zidane really hated him, whereas Lopetegui loves him, and is happy to have him in the team.

Also, with Nacho coming back, all the defensive flunkiness went away. Experienced CB makes a world of difference.
