You're right about the kung fu fighters, some damn rough defenders. Love it. Anyway, probably the best half of football I have seen for a while this year from Madrid. Smooth passing, lovely interchanging and of course, 2 DMs.

You know what is disappointing? I'm really not disrespecting them, but City are really nothing special.

I can't believe Madrid screw it up so bad in the first leg and lost at home against them.

I'm not trying to take away anything from them of course, it was a deserved victory no doubt. But I will maintain that they are nothing special and any decent team should be able to put them to the sword.

Zidane made many mistakes that game and Carvajal really screwed up

I am hoping with this defence we manage to keep a clean sheet next time and hope we get an early goal. It's doable but a difficult task without Mr CL himself

Well, I’m impressed. This version of summer / early season team is looking confident, sound defense and overall good. Mind you they haven’t played any real tough teams, nor will they in final 5 games.

I have often been critical of Zidane, but you have to give him credit for what we have been witnessing. He is playing everyone, changes formation depending upon who is playing, coaching kids for their betterment (something that I have been critical of him in past), defense has been solid and although offense is inconsistent, there are moments of excitement. Plus when changes are made, there is no drop off in play.

I don’t really value this season thinking that whatever results are achieved will be marked with an asterisk. But it does look like a liga trophy and there still is a possibility of a CL trophy.

I say what Zidane is doing is evaluating his squad, not only for CL, but for next season given it will likely be same squad.

I think the only changes will be a reduced squad size with possible sales of James and Mariano. I would also loan out Brahim unless something extraordinary happens to get rid of Bale.
