Barca finally agree on Sanchez fee

The Alexis Sanchez transfer saga is almost over after Udinese finally accepted an offer from Barcelona.

“The agreement with Barcelona for Sanchez is now complete,” Gino Pozzo, son of Udinese patron Giampaolo, told Spanish radio station RAC 1.

The 22-year-old has been the Nou Camp outfit’s top target all summer and negotiations with the Italian club have dragged on.

Udinese had publicly insisted that they wanted to sell the Chilean for €50m, a fee which scared off Italian suitors Inter and Juventus.

It’s reported that Barcelona will hand over €27m to the Stadio Friuli outfit, but a number of bonus clauses have been inserted into the deal.

Should those be activated then it is being suggested that the attacker could eventually cost the European champions €43m.

I really dont mind Barcelona having to pay 43 million if we win a double or something this season.

And, unfortunately, this means enough money to bring in Cesc this season. What is more unfortunate is there will be no CB coming in!

There was no CB about to come regardless the budget.

So in the end the equation is budget 45m + bojan 10m + jefren 6m + Ibra 8m = Kiko + Sanchez + Cesc (if they manage a deal)

the wierd thing is Barca are willing to pay 43M for sanchez while they could have signed cesc by now if they offered 40M


anyway, according to billy's calculations Barca will have around 34 M for cesc, and Wenger isnt going to be happy about that

Actually it is 40 million to sign Cesc!

Barcelona's squad is a bit small so Sanchez would definitely get enough playing time so I would say, pretty good (and damn expensive) signing.

While I do understand the reason behind selling Sanchez (his value is probably at its peak) and you never know if this season his form drops considerably due whatever variables and clubs lose interest, I still find it to be a lack of ambition on Udinese's part to sell him despite being in the UCL (qualification not the competition proper).

Yeah I read it. Still doesn't mean I agree to their principles. Comes a point where a team may need to be a bit more ambitious unless Udinese has the formula to find a Sanchez every so often.

Let me explain it a bit.
The Sanchez deal requires only 27m (+ 16? in variables affecting next years budget) of the current budget leaving 18 plus any additional funds coming from player sales.
Apparently, unlike Sanchez’s case Arsenal are not willing to take money in two installments so it’s a much more difficult deal to achieve.

According to my estimations 45 + 10 + 6 + 8 = 69 while Kiko and Sanchez = 30 with the remaining 39 going to Fabregas.

If they are willing to add a few (2-3) more millions I don’t see it hard to sign Cesc as well

I agree, with the market being so inflated right now I see this as a good signing for Barcelona. It is a little more then I would like, but that is the market right now. I'd much rather spend money like this then buy some terribley overpriced Englishman.
