I was about to ask

whatever happened to Ruben Loftus-Cheek

seems to have gotten even less time under Conte than under Mourinho

Apparently Conte sees him more as an attacking player than a CM, which he started out as. Probably just found himself behind Hazard/Pedro/Willian.

Don't know why he didn't go on loan somewhere. I know he picked up an injury recently, which is why he's not with the U21s.

Spain would have to worry about defending better against Italy than they have done for most of the tournament. That being said, England clearly can play something other than hoof 'n hope tactics.

Well deserved for Germany. England didn't do nearly enough.

Seriously, England still can't beat someone on penalties? Sigh, had a incredibly witty comment for Hans too. Damn it...

Germany deserved it over the 120 mins. We stopped playing and got what was coming to us.

Knew we would lose the shootout the moment Abraham scuffed his. Just gave the initiative straight back Germany and put all the pressure on England.

Good half from Italy, really restricted Spain to barely anything of note. Though it does help playing against 10 men as Deulofeu is doing an absolute Hazard moment on the field. One can actually say that with Chiesa as well. Both seem to be immune to helping out with defensive work as well.

On the flip side, Llorente and Ceballos winning the midfield battle (duh), Saul not really playing that well and Asensio is in and out of the match. Sandro is doing whatever he can with what little he tends to get.

Agree with all that. Really enjoyed this half. A lot better than the game earlier, great quality on both sides.

Asensio is showing class every time he touches, he is just not getting it enough. Deulofeu Laughing . Ceballos and Llorente very good, probably their best players so far. Kepa good as well.

In Italy Calabria was looking really shaky but grew as the game went on. Rugani and Caldara excellent. Benassi a little clumsy, you can tell he is not defend a lot being an attacking B2B. Petagna shines in uncomfortable situations and then ruins simple ones. Bernardeschi, Pellegrini and Chiesa the main danger.

Is Petagna the no. 11? The big ass brute lone forward? If he is, I like him. Not talented at all but he is strangely endearing.

The man is huge, only if he had just more skill. Would have been a monster of a striker. Who knows, maybe he'll get better as he gets older.

Also, Ceballos to Saul. All Ceballos though...

Gagliardini needs to chill, way too aggressive in this u21 from a guy who isn't particularly aggressive for club.

Both of yellows were completely unnecessary.

Watching Ceballos, Llorente, Pellegrini and Asensio do awesome footballing things make me wanna strangle Deulofeu. What an awful footballing display.

That being said, 1-1. Well done with the deflection.

@Hans Bernardeschi is coming home.

Saul's shooting is great, killing Italy by himself.
