Jesus Christ, why, why can't I simply just watch a normal match with the fkers. Benzema only shows up in the UCL, it has been confirmed today.

Seriously, why must it always be like this with Real Madrid?

Those guys weren't known for great defense.  But they weren't exactly easy to get past.  They put in the effort to get into proper playing positions at least.
I didn't forget Cafu, the only reason I didn't mention him is because of the teammates he has though now I see I am being unfair to Cafu but look at his teammates: Nesta. Maldini, Costacurta, Ambrosini, GATTUSO. granted Roberto Carlos had makelele but my point still stands. However, I do agree Cafu deserves a mention.

Rephrased for honest truth: where are the Cafu's, Maicon's, and the Roberto Carlos's of the world?

Finally, Thank you benz for showing what you used to be. We need more of that now more than ever.

ZZ needs to change this to a 451. We can't win headers because Casemiro isn't far back enough and they are just going through the center of our midfield. When Correa comes on its going to be even worse. We need to make a change

Well with Benzema reaching deep and us going down 2 goals, this certainly hasn't been a boring match.

Damn atletico trying to screw with us. they're playing this hard just to sabotage our attempts of winning la liga. Spiteful punks.

Sometimes, I wish Morata would put a little more effort into trying to win the ball. The guy's young and has plenty of energy, but he's not exactly Diego Costa when it comes to hunting the ball.

Pepe and Dani really need to make it back for the final. Danilo and Varane do not fill me with confidence at all

Varane and Ramos would be fine I think. Dani needs to get better for the final, like urgent need at this point.

That being said, GG boys. Another final to look forward too, another match to have your emotions uneasy.

Varane was great other than the PK.  Been back only 2 games.  He makes that play 100% of the time if he weren't rusty.  Just a half step late due to rust.  He covered so many positioning mistakes from Danilo otherwise.  Helped Ramos out too a couple of times.

Pepe is done with CL this season unless injury occurs.  He'll likely play in La Liga though.

You are describing Ramos' role. He was cleaning up after Danilo and Varane neariy all game. After Casemiro went off it was basically Carrasco vs Navas because Danilo/Varane can't win the ball 1v1 for shite. If we want the title we have to play the best players. I dgaf if Pepe will leave the day after the final, heshould start every single freaking game until he leaves

Pepe broke several ribs, there's no chance he'll be back for the final. We're in for a world of shit if Danilo starts against Juventus.

Slip? What slip? He misjudged the bounce on the ball like an amateur would. Absolute disaster of a player

Varane unnecessarily brought pressure on team. He had no business tackling there. He could have easily blocked him from having a shot at goal.

Isco, Modric, Kroos and Benzema were fantastic.

that was the benzema of old. that move reminded me of the redondo move at old trafford against united. for the young ones that never saw it, look up redondo old trafford or redondo vs united, raul was the scorer. brilliant move, and its about damn time we saw something like that from benzema.....now all that's left is chad's return, we haven't heard from him in a while, i actually hope he's alright.

Sports there also was one more moment right before he got subbed out. Had Thomas not messed with Benz balance, Benz would have been 1v1 with the keeper.

I hope this is a sign that Benz is returning to days of old.

nah he's done dude...  hunger is gone.  Living the thug life and he's happy with that.  He'll show up in some games here and there.  But he's satisfied.  Once you're satisfied, it's all over imo.

Belongs with OM tbh.

Yup, that was the Benzema of old and I actually believe Sport on this one in his wild theories. Benzema is clearly only showing up for the UCL as wherever he is mentally and physically, he is "comfortable".

@Tito
I not only remember that goal, I remember where I was and what exactly I was wearing too. I also tried to do that move so much times on a pitch. I was definitely more Lucas than I was Redondo.

Benzema has no pressure from the coaching staff or his teammates to score goals consistently... none.  That's not his main job believe it or not.  He needs to be a scoring threat, but not necessarily score.

His main purposes are to create movement to open room for Ronaldo to get scoring opportunities, to hold up the ball when necessary and help with the offensive flow.  Those are it.

You can't say that scoring is the top concern when EVERYONE from Flo down to Ronaldo/Ramos only praise him despite him having the worse scoring season since his 1st year at Madrid...  and his position isn't even threatened.

Nobody gives a rat's arse inside the club as long as the team is scoring goals and winning games and he's doing what he needs to do for the team.

Otherwise, he wouldn't play by now...  even if ZZ loved him, his teammates would call him out somehow in the media and it's quite the opposite.

It wasn't always this way. Under Mourinho and Carlo, he had more scoring responsibilities because those guys are more rigid with roles. Zidane doesn't really care about who ends up scoring as long as we score and play the way he wants.

You're just saying that because you want him at OM sports. Admit it. Though I won't deny he has lost the hunger.

I've been saying this for years and yet you find a way to say it better. Pay attention everyone. especially at the underlined. It's just the way it is.

Thankfully Benz isn't a donkey like bale so at worst he wont be dead weight, quite the opposite as we saw against atletico. Though I really wish he steps up his game. we really need it now considering what we saw from CR7 against atletico. It's always one ghosts while the other shines with the BBC these days.

Zidane Post Match comments wrote:"I didn't know how Benzema managed to come out of the corner," Zidane raved to BeIN Sports after the final whistle. "I honestly can't remember how many players he left behind," he laughed. "Football is not just about who gets the goals, look at what Benzema did. He has a lot of quality and offers more than just goals, he's a team player."

Marcelo post match comments wrote:"Benzema was pure magic, he's a great player and we're delighted with the pass that he made," the Brazilian remarked.

See what I mean?
