Not surprised Serie Z is the lowest with 3 teams. Rest all look quite similar so can't reach a definitive conclusion

Why past 5 seasons?
Would that be around the time PSG got their oil money?

Re: No of Teams by Country in CL QFs - Past 5 seasons
To me, it means the top 2 teams in Spain, Germany and France are better than those in England and Italy.
Spain has more than 2 teams in Madrid, Barca and Atleti, which is why they're far ahead.
Bundi has Bayern and Dortmund who consistently make the quarters.
Ligue 1 has PSG and Monaco... and I think one of OM and Lille will be coming soon with Garcia and Bielsa + new wealthy ownership. Not sure about Lyon as Aulas is losing some marbles imo. But in any case, Monaco and PSG are going to be there consistently.
EPL is just a mess. I think players in the EPL get massively overrated. Chelsea 2x, Leicester and City. That's the list over the past 5 years
Juve is the only relevant team in Serie A.

You usually look at 5 or 10 year increments. 10 years is not really relevant for the current talent. 5 years is the correct time-span to assess current talent as most players that were relevant 5 years ago are still relevant today.
The discussion on ESPNFC (who made a chart of this) was about the current levels of the leagues, not historical.
PSG is 4x and Monaco 2x for France.

Bundesfodder is inflated as their teams have an edge for Uefa competitions, playing a lot less in Germany.

Potential national games for top level teams, or fitness disadvantage for Uefa:
Not So Premier League 51
Goat Liga 49
Ligue Lol 1 49
Serie-Z 44
Bundesfodder 41

We reached the QF (to loss to Bayern) the season when Moyes was in charge. So its not 4, its 5.

Shit continental managers downgrading the GOAT league with their possession fetish. Harry Redknapp & Craig Shakespeare >>>>> Pep & Wenger.

obviously for Serie A, didn't help the fact that both Roma and Napoli got Madrid in the 1/8 finals, and Juve got eliminated in a controversial manner by Bayern.

Re: No of Teams by Country in CL QFs - Past 5 seasons
EPL has struggle in the past few seasons we all know, Man U I happily say domination era is gone Spurs not ready, Arsenal eternal failure, leaving Man C and Chelsea.
La Liga has the best teams and best players obviously, top 3 bossing it.
Germany is Bayern as usual, with Dortmund doing well to stay up there.
Its good to see French teams coming back, oil money or whatever or not. I forgot but Monaco is rich mainly due to the tax advantage thing right? Who really cares since its the way it is today and when u have such an entertaining team to watch
Serie A apart from Juve just not ready, so will wait for them to keep improving first.

Re: No of Teams by Country in CL QFs - Past 5 seasons
Serie A teams are improving season by season in small increments. They probably would never reach the heights of the 80s and 90s, not anytime soon anyway but they are improving.
No idea what's the EPL's excuse to be honest. The richest, most watched, most talked about league should be completely dominating Europe as in both UCL and Europa.

Re: No of Teams by Country in CL QFs - Past 5 seasons
I took a closer look at this, lets bust this myth before it even starts!
Ligue 1 has had 6 teams in the QF in the last 5 seasons. 4 of these teams are PSG, 2 are Monaco. Only 1 other team besides these 6 instances has reached the R16, where they loss in the following tie:
PSG - Barca.
Serie A has had 3 teams in the QF in the last 5 seasons, all of them Juve. 5 other teams have reached the R16 in this timeframe, they lost in the following games:
Napoli - Madrid
Roma - Madrid
Juventus - Bayern
Milan - Atletico
Milan - Barca
So what's happening? all of these Serie A teams got shit draws against the best teams and lost. Meanwhile, the moment that a ligue 1 team draws one of these teams, they also lose (no ligue 1 team in the last 5 years has beaten Barca, Madrid, Atleti, Bayern).
More Serie A teams reach the R16 than ligue 1's, they just get boned by the draws.
tldr: wrecked

^The EPL on the other hand has no excuse since they love losing knockouts to ligue 1 teams (Monaco and PSG)
