Lahm is a Bayern legend and one of the best fullbacks of the 2000s/2010s.

No chance he is overrated as one must learn to rate players of such exposure without the filter of venom and bias that proceeds to ruin what could be an honest opinion. One of the best and most consistent fullbacks of our generation and deserves nothing less then our respect. He for me, was best under Osram and thus his peak.

Rather disappointing two Germans I love in the form of Nico Rosberg and now Lahm are retiring so early (retiring at the top) but it takes nothing away from either.

Will be sad to see him go. Wish him the best in life.

Considering the likes of Carlos, Cafu, Alves, Maldini (was playing from like the 60s), Zanetti (see Maldini), Zambrotta, Thuram are in this list, I'd say he's in pretty good company. "Nothing more" is a bit harsh. He was very very consistent over his career. Might not have reached the likes of players mentioned above but he was very good in a career that went for over a decade.
