Nah seriously, the main one is CL, theyve has so much luck last year its hard to see them getting it again, since u need some luck in the CL to win. But they are on such good form while many of the contenders are struggling for top form, it feels possible. But its only start of the year, things in the next few months can change a lot.

Bottom line for me is probably no,

Barcelona 2008-09 were much better, and deserved it

Zidane plays horrible football, Clinical but the style is so boring to watch...

In all honesty, Madrid hasn't played attractive football ever since Pellegrini got fired...

They never won 5 trophies in a single season.
They almost did in 11/12 but missed the league and cl and in 15/16 missing the cl and supercopa. They had the chance to win a sextuplets but it's too difficult. The quintuple has only been achieved once in history by Celtic in the 60s and they weren't competing with a Monstrous Barcelona for 2 of those trophies.

Bayern won a quadruple in 12/13.

I meant sextuple in one season-ish

Madrid has to win treble first before dreaming about anything else.

I don't count it as a sextuple. Never have and never will. Impressive they won all the trophies but it's done in seasons and not calendar year. I won't make a special exception for Barcelona.

Yea, that's why this thread is taking about quintuple. Madrid can surpass anything Barcelona has achieved in a single season if they win all trophies available now, sealing Ronaldo as the best in history.

I don't think it is going to happen. I think Madrid will win La Liga and that is the only one I have high confidence in, maybe Copa Del Rey, I doubt we will retain the CL.

The only chance we have of retaining the CL is if Barca, Sevilla, and Atletico really hand us the title soon and start slipping up even more.

An early title wrap up could allow us to play better in the later stages of CL, but the past few years of La Liga have come down to the final day so I highly doubt it.

They are. Quintuple means 5 trophies. Only team to have won 5 major trophies in Europe in a season was Celtic. European cup, Scottish first division, Scottish Cup, Scottish league cup anf Glasgow Cup. So yes, Celtic won 5 trophies in and season. As you said Barcelona won 4 trophies in those seasons so not sure what point you are atyempting to make . Perhaps you didn't think that through...

Pep's done well for me. His team should have killed off Chelsea, Everton home, Southampton home and Spurs home. Goes to show you how important a goal scorer is. They create enough chances to kill games off. His strategy is high risk high reward. Aguero need to be benched now.

Best ever? In terms of talent? Talent wise CR is up there with the likes of Best, Charlton with regards to abilities.

Greatness wise, I would put Scholes, Giggs, Rio, Vidic, Neville, Cantona, big peter, Law, Best, Charlton, Bryan Robson, Beckham, Keane and a few others ahead of CR. I don't consider CR a united legend. I put him in the same category as Ruud VN. Rooney has had one wc season in his entire career for me. Ronaldo is a bigger united player for me. Rooney tried to move to City and Chelsea and came out in the media saying united had no ambition. He us a joke.
