Everton Vs Arsenal
Everton Vs Arsenal
Tuesday 13th December 19:45bst
Goodison Park
Everton away is always tricky. And we have been playing a match every 3-4 days for the last 2 weeks so fatigue might play a bit of a role. Specially since we have City on the weekend.
Everton are poor though so I really hope we beat them. Mustafi out is a big blow but Gabriel has shown decent form recently so hopefully he delivers. Wouldn't mind starting Holding but he might be a bit too inexperienced.
Might see a bit of rotation.
Would go with this team
------------------------------Cech---------------------------------
Bellerin-----------Gabriel----------Koscielny------------Monreal
----------------Xhaka---------Coquelin--------------------------
Perez--------------------Ozil-------------------------Iwobi
---------------------Sanchez-------------------------------------
Although Oxlade is in good form so maybe starting him again would help boost his morale.
Let's win this since City away is going to be a killer.

Re: Everton Vs Arsenal
The one thing I'm worried about tomorrow is if we can stop the service from out wide to Lukaku. We're weak at defending wide positions, especially down our left, and it'll be tough for Gabriel and Koscielny to compete in the air against Lukaku.
On the other hand, I'm hopeful we can take advantage of Everton's conservative midfield. Part of their problem is how their midfield trio without Barkley is too detached from Lukaku, and how that places more importance on good service from the wingers. If we control the ball in their half and pin their wingers back, we'll eliminate a lot of their threat.
I'm expecting a physical game. Games against Koeman's Southampton were never fun since they always seem fitter and more powerful than us. Hopefully our supposed new found resilience will show tomorrow night.

Re: Everton Vs Arsenal
Looking at that Everton line up, this could be a tough one but we should have enough to win this. We just need to defend well and hope Sanchez and Ozil turn up

Everton look there for the taking at the moment. Just need to keep the mistake to a minimum.

Re: Everton Vs Arsenal
We deserved to concede that. Have dropped off since the goal and haven't kept the ball at all well under pressure. Everton were growing into the game. We needed to retain the ball and cool the game down, not sit back and soak it up.
Their left back crossed for their right back to score. That's not good enough either.

Re: Everton Vs Arsenal
Played well until we scored which is strange but an early goal could change everything.
It looks bad though, Everton have the momentum.

Re: Everton Vs Arsenal
Meh first half,
We didn't really put Everton under pressure after we scored as a result they grew in confidence and got one back with their first clear cut chance as well
We need to stop their fullbacks from getting these crosses in the box, thats where the threat is going to be in the second half.

Re: Everton Vs Arsenal
I was worried about how we would defend wide positions. Walcott got across to Baines well but totally commits to the tackle and doesn't win the ball. Baines is able to put a great ball in without pressure.
Coleman has got in down the other side a couple of times as well. Sometimes Ox tracks him well but other times he switches off.
If we're going to be so deep then we need to be defending those areas far better.

Re: Everton Vs Arsenal
Ox and Theo both having poor games. Not taking people on, nor producing anything.
Can see Giroud coming on and Alexis going out wide soon.
