Who will go through to the quarter-finals?
UCL Last 16: Sevilla vs Leicester City
Last match-up of the round. Sevilla european pedigree and quality should see them go through. My prediction: Sevilla to go through.

Probably Sevilla. LC is the sort of opponent they would have faced in the EL so more than likely, they'll confuse the tie with that and win.

Re: UCL Last 16: Sevilla vs Leicester City
Mentioned this in the other thread, but Leicester fans were delighted with this draw. Mostly because Seville is just a nice city to visit (ultra and police brutality aside), but also because they considered it "winnable".
I suppose in the context of a draw that could've given them Barcelona, Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla is certainly more beatable. Still, as an English Sevilla supporter it's hard not to feel that they're being underestimated in England yet again for not being a household name, and I'm sure them beating Liverpool in last year's EL final will be conveniently forgotten as well.
Anyway, gripes aside, this is a textbook tie where one team will keep 70% of the ball while the other team will have no interest in keeping it and will be looking for counters. Sevilla do leave themselves vulnerable to counter attacks, especially as they don't always play out successfully. At the same time, Sampaoli has shown he's flexible enough in Europe to use a more cautious approach.
How Leicester approach this could depend on their league form. If they're still fighting relegation by the time these games come about, I wonder how focused they'll be.

How exactly is Sevilla still not a household name in England?

Sevilla is not CL level. They got lucky with this draw, I think they will win both legs.

I think they are more conservative in Europe than they have been in the league. I mean they played cattenacio against both Juve and Lyon away lol

Leicester are gonna get thrashed unfortunately
think this first leg will be 3/4-0
then they'll lose narrowly at home

Re: UCL Last 16: Sevilla vs Leicester City
My thoughts have gone from "probably" to "definitely". If LC win this tie, Sevilla should just be banned from any UCL qualification and get send straight to Europa League.
Sevilla have everything going for them for this tie. A better manager, better players, confidence, luck, in form guys, a better manager. Also, Jay could really do with some cheering up football wise.

Leicester will win it, league form means nothing if they can replicate their group stage form

Re: UCL Last 16: Sevilla vs Leicester City
lol that was MONTHS ago and look at the results
hardly inspiring and nothing suggests they will be competitive with a Sevilla side that are actually good
they're getting smashed, hope they prove me wrong though
goat league etc

Re: UCL Last 16: Sevilla vs Leicester City
They aren't without hope.
Sevilla can be vulnerable to a high press. If they press with Vardy and Okazaki they could force turnovers in dangerous areas.
N'Zonzi has looked very tired in recent games.
Sevilla miss a lot of chances.
And Leicester could find inspiration and up their game on the night.

Leicester did not have a better chance than Arsenal. The difference in class and strangth between Sevilla and Leicester is far, far bigger than the one between Arsenal and Bayern

Is Sampaoli at this game?
Nvm just saw him guess he's banned from touchline.
