Does the club have much to do with there taxes? I never knew they played apart, thought it was an individual thing.

Yawn, try Refdrid players sometimes, oh yeah forgot that the prosecutor is a former Refrdid member and great friends with Perez.
I think EU should intervene as laws aren't held equally in Spain.

Runs deep within the club. It's part of their identity (:

Of course it has to do with the club. It seems only Barca stars are getting caught.

Off course it doesn't have anything to do with the club, you plebs. It's the individual who has the obligation to pay their taxes and only Eto'o is being charged.
Also, Real Madrid players did the same as Barcelona players, and have suffered lots of tax audits and they made them pay huge amounts, but oh surprise, only Barcelona players get charged with trials.
Madrid players that had to pay in recent years: Iker, Ramos, Xabi Alonso, and now Raul will be tried too.

Iker and Ramos having tax problems???!! Is that some exclusive news I or anyone else haven't heard of. Also Xabi was not found guilty so that rubbish was just fabricated. Barca and their players seems like they try to cut corners hoping they won't be found out. I hope the Spanish court make an example of them by putting their players in prison

This is the strand in Barca DNA that they look for, Cesc did not want to evade taxes so he left

Seriously though, Free could have blessed us with any article on those (former) Madrid players and their tax related issues.

You are right. It doesn't have to do just with the club, rather with the whole of Catalonia

Millionaires don't go to prison. Will get like 7 hours probation, just like Messi.
And if a poor person steals a can of tuna at a deli they get thirty lashes from the whip, and a gazillion years in a basque gulag.

Catalonia has the least of tax evasion in Spain, although still high compared to other european countries.

All of them have been investigated / had to pay millions in taxes.
From barça, also Piqué, and possibly Xavi and Iniesta.

Why don't you present the whole story. Yes they were investigated as likely all millionaires have been due to government income shortage and esp. after Panama papers, but the conclusions where nothing illegal!!! unlike the criminal cases of Neymar, Messi, Mascherano.

Ha. Their cases have just been discovered. He's done exactly the same as Messi or Masche. Doubt he'll be tried, because he's a Madrid player, however he'll pay. A lot.

It's so funny that this thread has gone mute...
It has also been brilliant timing. I always say that time always gives or takes reason away, but oh boy, never did I expect it to be so fast.
Modric, Pepe, Coentrao all tax evaders too.

Is this some kind of "but other people do it as well" argument? Because players from Madrid evading taxes too doesn't make it less appalling.

I suggest you read the thread. It has nothing to do with "others do it as well".

Probably most multi-millionaires are doing some sort of tax avoidance. And it's probably mostly legal. And it's a *bleep* ing disgrace.
