Pogba is the worst 120m € player out there

I read the other day that emre can has more goals and assists than jogba this season not sure how true that is

Cant even see he was at fault for not tracking back his man on that first goal. Really intelligent player, yes.

Pogba has more assists than Can has goals and assists. Not hard to do 5 seconds of research. Pogba's joint third for assists. Can's joint 280th.

The fact is he was starter at Juve, for coaches who are very tactically astute and demand work and tactical discipline, and he started in a squad much more strong in midfield, as your post shows.
Those managers made their formation so that all of those 4 could play together, and they played well. Pogba played well. He wasn't a luxury player, but a mobile beast.

His problem is that he is not ready to be a strategic player, and that what's expected from him at Man United.
Or rather, post-Ferguson Man United is a talent black hole, players tend to look worse there than they did before moving.
Pogba's clearly not the only one affected.

Carrick was an exceptionally intelligent player, so "I'd go as far" isn't actually going very far and an odd way to phrase it, or to make a point.

Pogba was also outplayed intelligence wise by Dele Alli and Eriksen. His positional awareness and passing is sub-par atm

Mourinho is not playing Pogba in that type of role, he is trying to build the midfield around him, trying to have him assume the role of a midfield general like Modric, but POgba has nowhere near that intelligence.

by the way, let's stop comparing De Bruyne to POgba, is he better than Eriksen?

No. Lets not fall into fake news to justify stories. Under Conte Pogba wasn't allowed to move a foot out of place. He did not have a free role at all at any point.

Under Allegri he only had a more free role the last season when he got the 10. The first season the midfielder that would run up the pitch was Vidal, Pogba was a regular mezzala.

Didnt Conte try out the 4-3-3 with Pogba as the mezzala (false winger)? I think in the mid 3 on the left flank he was at his best under Conte. A fairly free role you might say.

Of course he did. Pogba only played mezzala for Juve. He was tried in an odd game or two in other positions but 99% he was one of the mezzalas.

the mezzalas are the two side midfielders in the 4-3-3 or 3-5-2.

Yeah he has, IIRC he performed well in basically all those CL games, except the final vs Barca.

Let's stop all this hindsight peddling. The hype was ridiculous, but there was a reason for it. The reason bbeing that Pogba was a breathtaking young world class footballer. Period.

What's happening now is another story, and IMO it has mostly to do with MONEY

Yes, having the free role to move to the side to find space, and going into the forward 9 position when space occurs... That is what you call a free role...
