I am not sure when is the right time to start judging him? I mean most of the new signings have settled in for most clubs.

He plays better for France than he does for United. Should tell you where the problem lies.

Yea, buy a guy that did well as a free #8 in a 352, play him as a dm, then a 10. Equivalent of Tata playing nerman on the rw in the 13/14 season.

The right time to judge him surely is later but I still thought it was time we have thread for it.

I have seen people discuss that a lot of top stars like Ronaldo, Lewa and Ozil haven't had the best of starts to the season due to 'fatigue' Obviously there are others who are fine but maybe Pogba is in the former category?

Obviously United will give him at least 3-4 seasons but we very well may see his best next season or post Jan. Season is still early.

Pogba himself is worth about 40M but the cringey dab that comes with him in the package is an additional 80M

And in response to Valkyrja-- no, Henderson is worse than a traffic cone, it's impossible.

Ibra looks horrible too for United.

Problem is that the rest of Man U have a hard time getting the ball to both Ibra and Pogba... and then they don't make supporting runs the few times they have it.

It's typical Mourinho though. Remember that he managed to make Ronaldo, Higuain, Ozil, Di Maria, Benzema, Alonso and Marcelo look very poor for long stretches. They guy just likes to play negative tactics and hope the players figure it out on the attack... he's built a career on this.

It surely wasn't his best season until Marchisio came back from injury and Khedira settled in.
Point is, the kid, as talented as he is, was always carried by more tactically accomplished teammates

wat. Marchisio was benched by Pogba 3 years ago, Vidal was gone for Pogba's last year and Pirlo was a complete (and often injured) shell of himself in his last year at Juve too 2 years ago.

Last year, the midfield was Khedira (when healthy) and Marchisio (when healthy) with Pogba ahead of them. The attack was Dybala and Mandzukic mostly. When Khedira and/or Marchisio were out, it was Hernanes, Pereyra and Sturraro who filled in.

Personnel wasn't incredible. They were just very well managed tactically. Also, they had proper attacking fullbacks and Evra/Lichsteiner which helped a lot. Bonucci also provided playmaking out of the back 3.

This Man U team is just names on the back of the shirt right now... some of which aren't very good tbh. They're not really playing like a unit. Time should help... or at least one would hope.

I don't think he is playing any better with France actually, he is getting criticized a lot in France too. His screamer last week was a saving grace but people are getting impatient because his performances in midfield are very average, far from what a player of his supposed talent is supposed to display
