Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
League of Ireland side Dundalk 1-0 up against BATE. Drawing 1-1 on aggregate.
Don't think an Irish side has ever made the play-off round of the CL.

hat's a minimum of €5.4 million in European prize money for Dundalk this season - what they earned for winning the league multiplied by 49.
Historic moment for them

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
Monaco took Falcao out at HT for precautionary reasons (he's been great in preseason and in the CL 1,5 games). Moutinho is still on vacation. Glik the CB isn't suited up yet since they just bought him. So they were a man short on every light. F----w was missing Van Persie.
And the Turkish goal was clearly offsides. Still won 3-1 though. Germain was very good.
Monaco are going to be 3rd in Ligue 1 again. That's their level. Nowhere near PSG and well below Lyon. After the top 3, it's going to be a free-for-all.

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
Anderlecht and Shakhtar out - that means Borussia M'gladbach are seeded! So at least no ManCity, Villarreal, Porto or Ajax!
So the possible opponents are AS Roma, Steaua Bukarest, AS Monaco, FK Rostow or Young Boys Bern. Still not all easy, but probably better than most of the others ^^
I just hope that Yann Sommer will be fit for the qualifier...

thats gonna be a pretty intense draw for some.

Well, Roma are done. Watch them draw City.

I would rather Roma get an easier draw and watch them play the CL but the prospect of City possibly going to EL would be awesome

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
It will surely take time for City to truly gel and right now is certainly when they're most vulnerable but the thought of Aguero, De Bruyne and the Gabriel triplets being unleashed on their makeshift backline right now is horrifying beyond belief.
Roma are a good side and their midfield trio provide tremendous cover but Manolas is the only defender they currently possess who is arguably up to the task and even he's an unstable character.

Betis and they let him go for free despite him having a contract till 2017. Should tell you all you need to know but apparently Overmars decided that he needed his annual crap signing.

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
Young Boys or Monaco would probably be the best match up for City, due to not wanting to travel to Russia/Romania midweek.
Manchester City vs Young Boys
Porto vs Monaco
Villarreal vs Rostov
Ajax vs Roma
Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Steaua București

Leverkusen
Valencia
Marseilles
Ajax

I can feel your pain. My home team RWO just lost 0:4 at home against Rot-Weiss Ahlen and so we are dead last in the table after the opening matchday of the RL West.... No fun...
