Celtic unable to score a goal against a team the beat 5-2. Almost throwing away a 5-2 Led, Rodgers showing why he is a scrub of a manager.

If I was Spalletti I would terminate De Rossi contract. How stupid can you be. Season is pretty much over before it started. Expect roma lose next five matches and Spalletti to be sacked. Ofcourse UEFA draw system is simply stupid.. Shitty FC gets some random club and Roma gets Porto. Thank you.

@flameas
Well, Roma were unseeded for a reason. If they don't collect points, say, in the EL, how can they expect to get seeded?

Imagine if we were smart enough to loan De Rossi for the season. We'll give you Lucas for free. Having a DM like De Rossi even at this age would be effing glorious. Hendo playing in there makes want to vomit.

So in what reason Celtic plays random Israel club? CL needs to be big clubs, not scrubs.

Celtic are the champions of Scotland and Beer Sheva are the Champions of Israel. They play to get into the *Champions* League... It is more questionable if 3rd and 4th placed clubs in leagues are allowed in the league of the Champions.flameas wrote:So in what reason Celtic plays random Israel club? No. Don't blame it on the system. Blame it on the players who didn't have the balls to keep their heads and see this tie through. Blame our sporting director who didn't get us the players we desperately needed to get beyond this tie. Ā 3 red cards? 1 penalty?...that's not UEFA's fault. So many players disgraced this shirt today. That's where the fault lies. That's where the blame should be. UEFA are an easy target, but when we're thrown adversity, we should meet it head on...not duck away from it like weaklings. We did the latter today and it's an absolute disgrace.
People can make fun of this club, its players, it's coach, its staff, and of course its fans, but days like this....losses like this...over and over again...this weighs on me. Each one heavier than the last. I don't think there's a single fan out of any of these big clubs out there that understands what this feels like. Not one. This is unique and I hate it. Every goddamn year. This is why Roma don't win titles. This is why Juve do nothing, but win titles. It's not about corruption or match-fixing or any of that other bullshit. I do not like Juventus the club, but I respect what their players do on that pitch. They know they will win and then they go out and they do it. Roma wish they had that type of confidence and the worst thing is that we'll never admit that. We have been accused of having a small club mentality and quite frankly, it's hard to disagree after the shitshow I just saw today. I firmly believe a lesser team than Roma would've done better today. We are the epitome of the bottle job. Book it.

The question is that do we want a great European competition or Barca playing random clubs. From 17/18 all top leagues will have 4 spots. Thats the best possible solution.
And McLewis I agree. We can only blame ourselves, but this draw seems very harsh. working all season hard to finish 3rd and then your season will be decided with two games? That does not seem right

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
Frankly, I prefer it if there are smaller clubs in a competition as then you could have cool underdog stories and not just always the same big clubs playing each other.

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
But I can remember Basel beating Man Utd and Chelsea, for example. In the new modus, the Swiss champion would be unlikely to get into the CL group stage directly, just because the Swiss League doesn't rank so high.

Not about what's right, bro. A truly great team doesn't care who gets put in front of them. They go out and they give that opponent everything they can handle and more. Roma didn't do that. We balked at Porto's prestige and pedigree from the very beginning. We psyched ourselves out yet again. Porto simply weren't that good in either tie. Insert any team of a similar level against this flaming dumpster of a Roma side and you get the same result.
We've always received bad draws in the CL? You know why that happens to us? Because we haven't done well enough results wise to earn higher coefficients and thus seeding. It's our fault, not the system's.
