Only because the alternative is Jordan Lukaku.

Anyways, anyone been following Franck Kessie? 19 yr old french midfielder with 3 goals in 4 games, media touting him as the next Yaya

From what I've seen of Kessie thus far he looks a decent young midfielder but I'd be wary of his statistics at this early stage. He's been opportunistic in that regard, pouncing on mistakes for simple finishes in addition to a penalty. He's showed good instincts to get into such positions thus far but he needs to be careful that it doesn't go to his head. It's very easy for a youngster to become obsessed with getting on the score sheet and to start neglecting their other duties. One to keep an eye on though. Atalanta have done well to recruit him, though he's not really a straight De Roon replacement, they still need a more disciplined figure in midfield to complement Kessie's runs forward in my view.

Cant help but feel Juves has been weakened though this season, how ever u put it, the stacked squad, experience, injuries, etc. The starting 11 isnt as strong.

Isn't as strong as what?

Mandzukic-Dybala
Evra-Pogba-Marchisio-Khedira-Lichtsteiner
Chiellini-Bonucci-Barzagli
Buffon

to

Higuain-Dybala
Alex Sandro-Marchisio*-Pjanic-Khedira-Dani Alves
Chiellini-Bonucci-Barzagli
Buffon

I think the second is comfortably better than the first, and I'm not even discussing the depth of the second team compared with the first.

Last season, with the first 11 we started with 12 points in 12 games, with Marchisio missing a decent portion of the first games of the season as he is now

For now he is a 27m player who sits on the bench while the likes of Santon and D'Ambrisio start games.

Pjanic still adapting to Juve it looks like, there isnt much creativity coming from the center midfield and it looks unbalanced. I dont know when Marchisio comes back if thats gonna improve. It could be just everyone needing time to gel atm. But I still feel u cant compare the midfield now with what u had previously, so they have to step up. Otherwise Dybala and Higuain need to step up and create goals more on their own or I dont know if Sandro and Alves is gonna be starting and helping to attack from the wings, etc., since Juve have always emphasis more on defense probably.

Nah, the squad and the starting 11 is better, as is the depth. Pjanic is definitely still adapting like you said but that doesn't mean he won't adapt. Pogba is better than Pjanic, yes, but that doesn't mean the midfields are incomparable. Its very close. On the other hand, we have been all about attacking through the wings so far this season. Sandro has been clearly our best player, even if Evra will still play some games.

BarcaLearning wrote:I dont know when Marchisio comes back if thats gonna improve. It could be just everyone needing time to gel atm.

As you say, everyone needs to gel atm. But you are also underestimating how important Marchisio is to Juve. He is basically the second coming of Jesus here (the first coming being Pirlo :coffee: ). Last season when he was also out we struggled to win any games, we had our worst start in our history, by far our most important player. We lost the opener to Udinese at home, lost to Napoli, we were sitting outside of 10th place every round until maybe november. We sit second place now, its a much better start.

Napoli also reinforced and looks great though. It will be along and tough season.

He's too tall to be an elite fullback mate. Definitely won't make it.

Thanks, I now have something to bump. It's not wise to use terms like "definitely" when discussing an inexact science. LOL

Inter are as roller casters.

We are capable to win big matches,  and then losing
against small teams.

Still I remind that Inter Napoli 2-0 and followed from Genoa Inter (on Wednesday too ) then ...

It will be a tough match today , and not just because Banega will miss the match (serious la,  we do not have a worth replacement for him)

He is not so good imo.  Di Marco ( on loan in Empoli now, I've followed  him also last year in Ascoli - Serie B , and played a Euro under 19 very good recently) is much more promising than him. Infact in Inter youth team Di Marco was the starter and Minague the bencher..

When does the Gabigol era begin mate?

He might play in 2nd half today

Grosso was 1.91 m. If the kid is good then he will be fine regardless of if he is tall.

Pogba isn't better than Pjanic. Different types of players but Pjanic is much smarter and a much better passer. More creative too and one of the best set piece takers going.

Except for set pieces, Pogba outperformed Pjanic in Italy for years now. Enough to say that he has been better. Different players yes, and both awesome. But they played in the same league, with top teams, for years and Pogba came out on top.
