We don't know what will happen with Marchisio and Kehdira that leaves us with no quality if Pogba leaves, if he stays we need 1 more.

Khedira out until october. Marchisio out until a long time.

Sturaro-Matic-Pjanic = most of the time
Pereyra-Lemina-Pjanic = against weaker sides/CL groups

In october replace Sturaro by Khedira.
If Pogba leaves, then why on earth sell Pereyra ? He IS the player we need as a good 4th/5th choice: pacey, technical, decent vista and passing game. Just buy Matic so our overall midfield remains solid.


Pogba stays (everyday i feel he's getting closer to staying)

Overall our midfield is well balanced, and more importantly, most of our opponents can't even match a Pereyra-Sturaro-Lemina trio.

By the time of the serious games, CL quarters and such, and assuming we reach this stage, everyone is supposed to be healthy. In february/march.

We will sign at least two midfielders if Pogba leaves.

Apparently Doyen Sports have contacted us for Herrera. I think it all depends on Pogba's move now.

Matuidi to Juventus is a pretty hot rumor right now in France.

No chance with Verratti... not a million years. He's extended until 2020 and he doesn't want to leave. Not to mention PSG don't care about money. So it's a non starter.

Would take Matuidi but I am excited by the prospect of that Herrera lad. Looks like he'd give us the dimension we've been missing since Vidal Became a fat drunk left

Matuidi + Herrera wouldnt be too bad but problem is we need a holder more importantly right now. Neither of them are holders. This is why Matic would be more ideal.

Tom... very different players. Matuidi is a B2B guy. Not technical, but kills himself with effort. I think you need a direct guy like that in every midfield. Assuming Pjanic and Marchisio (once he comes back) are the other CM regulars... Matuidi complements them well. Brings a different element. You don't want too many players that have similar profiles imo.

Matuidi would be a left side B2B... so a direct replacement for Pogba imo. Herrera is too soft and, frankly, reckless to be a holding mid. I don't think either fits the bill of that role at all.

Yeah I don't want both I'd prefer Matic + Herrera but in the case of buying 2 midfielders it would be Matuidi + Herrera.

We need a legitimate DM for 2 reasons

1 We've lost so much physicality. With Vidal last season and Pogba this season (Assuming we're all speaking about him departing as a certainty)

A DM would go a long way in to shoring our midfield up and really help the likes of Pjanic focus on their business


2 Every time Marchisio is out, we end up with some pleb covering for him and looking really awkward. He's the only one I trust in that role in this team.

Last issue... Matuidi's wage is 12 mil euros. Not really sure you want to pay that kind of money for him. I honestly don't think he's anywhere as good as he was 2 years ago. But he's still effective. Went a bit hollywood and chasing goals as opposed to doing his job recently. And he can ONLY play on the left. Very left footed player. Looks lost on the right, which is why Pogba is forced to play on the right for France.

ah.... porto's Herrera.  Be careful about Portuguese league players.  Both in France and being a Madrid fan, they flop a lot.  You get the gem once in a while.  But often times, they are not what you think they are.

Ivan Cavaleiro and Bernardo Silva have been very underwhelming lately for Monaco and they spent a lot of money and them. Were supposed to be solid up-and-coming talented kids.

We've been linked to only two DM's : Matic and Witsel.

As for B2Bs we've been linked to : Herrera, Rakitic, Matuidi, Brozovic and lastly Sissoko.

If Pogba leaves, we'll most likely sign one DM and one B2B

Yeah plenty of flops coming from there but in the (admittedly short) amount of times i've seen him, his strengths aren't really something to be suspicious of.

If it was some sort of dribble merchant playmaking GOAT i'd agree chances are it's the league making him look 10x better than he is. But he has the sort of grit we need or at least we're going to.

Pjanic being instructed to keep an offensive/playmaker role, and the other 2 doing a btb job... I think it would work

Particularly on Juve forums I can guarantee you none of them actually watch him on even a semi regular basis for his club. So whilst I don't rate him myself if the Juve lads see something in him then i'm ok with that.

I wonder why nobody is on Lass Diarra.  He was fantastic last season and wants a 2 year/10 mil per year deal.  It's a lot of wages for him... but he's free.  So assuming he would cost 10 mil normally on a transfer AT LEAST and you're not paying that, i think it's a good deal.

He's perfect for Juve.

I feel he might be a bit overpriced.

The other day i read GDM saying Witsel is close to Everton for 30M. I'd pass for that kind of sum. He has transferred up to 20 different clubs this year and nothing's come to fruition.

Guess he's waiting for us or something.
