RIP to the victims and condolensces to their families.
I assume this is a case of more killings based on a deluded person who thinks his religion is superior beyond. Nothing new.

Re: Orlando nightclub shooting
Could never imagine something could happen like this in Orlando. Sacred ground FFS. We don't bother anybody down here in the southeast.
God help this country if they find out this Mateen kid was inspired by ISIS. God help us all....

RIP to innocent victims who were just out to have a good time.
We'll see what the backlash of this will be. Two separate instances of gun violence in Orlando within days. This one will probably get blamed on the muslims.

Re: Orlando nightclub shooting
The gunman who killed 50 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando has been identified as 29-year-old Omar Mateen, who may have been motivated by homophobia.
Authorities say Mateen, who was shot dead after a three-hour stand-off with police, was from Port St Lucie in Florida.
Mateen was an American citizen of Afghan descent who worked as a security officer.
He was married and is believed to have had one child.
Speaking to NBC News, Mateen's father Mir Seddique said he believed his son's actions were motived by homophobia, not by radical Islam.
"This had nothing to do with religion," he said.
He said his son recently lashed out in his presence after witnessing a gay couple embracing in downtown Miami.
"He saw two men kissing each other in front of his wife and kid and he got very angry," Mr Seddique said.
He added: "We are saying we are apologising for the whole incident.
"We are in shock like the whole country."
The FBI says it is still investigating whether the massacre was a hate crime, a terrorist act, or a violent crime.

Re: Orlando nightclub shooting
Why aren't Americans marching the streets or tearing shit up with these type of things happening?
I remember taking a bit of American History and how thousands of thousands of people marched for Veterans because the government didnt pay them for their services in WW1, they made congress overturn that rule
This is such a weak people right now, their forefathers died for their rights
RIP to the people

Re: Orlando nightclub shooting
Because the majority of Americans still want their guns.
Nobody is going to march against guns, we want them. Why would we march against them?
According to most Americans, this is a tragic incident that is due to islam, to homophobia, to black people, to mental illness. Any excuse to make sure we do not admit that at the core of these shootings, there is one common denominator: guns.

Guns are one things. Automatic rifles on the other hand shouldn't be something you're allowed to get as a private person It's ridiculous. The security when buying a gun is ridiculous.
If only guns had the same security measures as abortions.

Apparently another guy, with a car full of weapons, was just arrested outside of the LA gay pride festival.

Why? To protect from whom? If all guns were banned altogether everyone would be at the same disadvantage
A few days ago, some guy walked in a concert and shot Christian Grimmie
Is this the norm now? Are we supposed to be sympathetic and in a few weeks let it blow over and go to our normal lives?
Its absolutely appalling that no major move has been done yet or people haven't taken the streets

The argument is that the criminals will still have guns. You take guns from the law-abiding citizens and only the people who choose to break the law will have the weapons.

Re: Orlando nightclub shooting
It's clear that the gun laws are outdated and need major reforms. i think the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms can be revised in some ways but the problem is that GOP is pro gun and they have majority in both houses so good luck trying trying to pass laws that restricts gun ownership.

Re: Orlando nightclub shooting
This week, the world was unified in mourning, remembering and celebrating the life of arguably the greatest athlete ever, a proud Muslim man at that. You had people of all races, religion eulogizing at his funeral service 2 days ago. Nearly 2 weeks ago Twitter/Facebook was awash with Ramadan tweets/posts, trending, everyone was wishing each other Ramadan Mubarak, even non Muslims were full of well wishes. Heck even Trump posted something positive towards Muhammad Ali, when a couple of weeks back he denounced that there weren't any great Muslim athletes..
There was good press for a brief period. Now this tragedy happens.
Now I'm not one for tin foil hat conspiracies, but this does make you think. Even Trump is on Twitter instigating saying the killer yelled 'A A'.
All done in the holy month. Now every front page is back to Radical Islam this, radical Islam that. The ignorant sheep go back to hating on Muslims, etc.

Re: Orlando nightclub shooting
Because this is a monthly affair. Americans are desensitized to it. If you live in America you accept that every time you go to the movies you might get shot, every time your kid goes to school he might get shot, your daughter at the mall, you at the office, etc.ES wrote:Why aren't Americans marching the streets or tearing shit up with these type of things happening?

Putting it this way has made me realize that maybe I need a gun after all, at least while I live here.

Hard to believe a guy who has a wife and a kid would ruin his life and his family's life all for an organisation that probably won't even remember him by breakfast tomorrow.

The power of manipulation & brain washing.

I doubt anybody or anything is this world can manipulate me or any sane person in this way. Question is how the hell they keep finding these mentally challenged or otherwise just evil people.
