Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
I agree. I cant see any reason why Real shouldn't activate the buy-back. What do they have to lose by doing so - they can just flog him for a tidy profit after a season or two if things don't work out. He makes a great subbie and will fancy his chances to challenge Benzema over the next two years.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
Agreed with Robes.Perez is a smart businessman these days so he'll wait it out until the EURO's to conclude to sell him to the highest bidder.
3 yrs ago, everyone thought Higuain will be sold for 25M to Arsenal but Perez dragged the negotiations until another club came up with a 40M offer which was huge at that point.
If Morata has a good EURO,Perez should be confident of selling him for €70-€80M to EPL.

I can imagine Pep making a bid for him.I dont know if they can go another season relying on injury prone Aguero.
Bony will be binned. So they'd need another striker and Morata is flexible enough to play different roles.

If Morata has such a good Euro's that he is suddenly worth more than double his market value (not likely) then Real would probably just keep him cos at that point he would fit the Real hype signing of the season anyway. The Higuain situation was completely different... I wouldn't even say we know that that was Perez's "Genius". Think its more likely that the player was holding out for Arsenal drumming up a better offer, because he made it quite clear he preferred Arsenal to Napoli.

Morata might want to go to a club where he would be a starter.Real ofcourse wont guarantee him that.
Plus he's not a fancy name you know. His market value is about atleast 50M right now.Could rise with the EPL cash injection.

Madrid fleeced an EPL team by getting them to pay 80M odd for Di Maria so i dont see what's your point.

Yes they would. You're underestimating him. He's only 23 and its just that you would be paying for potential. It will go even higher if has a good Euro campaign.
Prices are going to be crazy this year.

look tbh I don't watch enough Juve games. But I see his scoring record this season is 7 from 34 (league). That doesn't sound like a striker worth 50m to me. Even if his hold up play etc etc makes me jizz. Hes almost 24 after the season starts - he is young yes but not exactly a wonderkid.
Also its the biggest club in the world at his home town. I imagine Morata would prefer to fight Benzy for a spot at Madrid than move to Manchester.

His stats might not look attractive but it also needs to be mentioned he hasnt been a regular starter for Juventus for the last two seasons.
Mandzukic this reason is preferred over him for tactical reasons.
He basically doesnt start many games.Despite that, his goal to minute ratio is still good.He also has racked up 11 assists this year in all comps which is the 2nd highest for a Juventus player this year.
Most importantly he's been Juve's most dangerous attacking player in the Champions league for the past two seasons. What's not to like ?
Madrid may be his boyhood club but its common knowledge he wont get ahead of any of Bale,Benz or Cristiano regularly. All those three would want to play all the time.So in that respect,Madrid would want a striker of a lesser profile who is happy with the bench-like Gameiro.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
can't see him fetching more than 40M from PL clubs
a lot of more attractive options in the PL alone for that kinda money
honestly think he stays at Juve or if he has a gr8 euro goes to Madrid
could PSG be genuinely interested in him? imagine they would go for someone like lacazette ahead of morata

Haha mate.. Im not buying what you're selling.
Players worth +50m don't get benched by Mandzukic for "tactical reasons" at Juventus - it may be conceivable at City, PSG, Real Madrid and the like but not at Juve. Juve are dominating Serie A so I should hope a striker does rack up a few assists and goals. Very little evidence on the table to justify paying 50m. Better and/or cheaper options out there if that's what it takes to get Morata.. Aubameyang (better).. Icardi (cheaper), Lukaku (better), Zlatan (both), Cavani (better), Lacazette (cheaper), Giroud (jks)

Mandzukic is stronger, more physical, can play with his back to goal much better than Morata. Its why Allegri prefers him.
Morata is the better talent but he aint physical like Mandzukic.Goes down at the slightest contact. It needs to be said he's excelled at Juventus more in a supporting role.
He may not be a wonderkid but Morata has raised his profile by playing exceptionally well in the Champions league. If he didnt,i would've agreed with you.
In the league on the other hand,he's found it difficult to thrive against teams who've sat back and closed down the spaces.
He's a guy who thrives in space so i would imagine EPL would suit his style more.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
In no universe will Morata ever be sold for 80 million
Come on now. He can't even be a regular for Juve. He has a grand total of 9 goals in 44 games for Juve this season. He had 13 goals in 41 games last season. I thought he was actually worse this season.
Let's be real. He's not some 20 year old phenom that you're trying to get before someone else does... He's a 23 year old player who will be 24 in October... so he's reaching his early prime years. I don't think his ceiling is very high. He's not an elite level talent.
I would love it... but i don't see anyone paying more than 40 mil for him.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
*Provided he has a great EURO.And Morata seems to be a cup specialist of sorts so i dont see why he wouldnt have a good Euro campaign as well.
He will surely get teams to overpay for him.Not 80M range but well above 50-60M EU range.
Teams will fall for the hype.

Nah... 40 mil is about right. And he doesn't start for Spain. Alcacer does. He got the start against Italy because he plays for Juve and VDB can be classy like that...
I actually think Aduriz might start.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
You paid nearly €90M for James but that was mostly down to his World Cup performances
Everton are demanding £50M+ for Lukaku on the other hand.Similar ceiling level to Morata imo.
There is going to be a significant cash increase amongst EPL clubs as well so my estimates are mostly based on that.

£40M or €40M ?
I doubt its the latter.Perez has oversold some of his players over the last few yrs so it could be the same with Morata.
If its €40M,then we should be able to retain him.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
James had an absolutely fantastic season at Monaco though... 10 goals and 12 assists as a 22 year old playmaker. More importantly, he was the pace setter on a team that had guys like Toulalan, Moutinho and Carrasco. The WC just validated his great season. Morata is not coming off a great season that the Euro would validate.
I really don't see more than 40 mil. If insanity occurs, maybe 50... i thought I was stretching to 40

James > Morata
I certainly wouldn't pay £40M for a marginal upgrade to Giroud. What Everton want for Lukaku is very different to what Everton might get. The mere fact (as you allege it to be) they have gone in with £50M as an opening proposal for an almost guaranteed 20+ goal striker and who most people would agree can still improve should tell you that Morata aint being sold for £50m no matter how good his Euros are.
£30m is right - a bidding war might bump it up to £35m

But paper talk suggest Madrid want to re-sell him for €50-€60M and that makes me less optimistic.

We know nothing. We don't know if Morata spoke to them, if they believe he's gone, if they even know. Nothing. No news, just speculations

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
I wouldn't pay 50mill (in euros) for Morata, but Perez is Perez. If he valued Morata at 40mill then there would be 0 speculation and he would just stay. Juve would pay the 10mill difference and that would be the end of that.
Again, I don't agree with such high valuations for him, but Madrid clearly think they can sell him for more than ~40mill.
