By Football Italia staff

Max Allegri admits what Juventus have achieved is “almost impossible, but next year we must target winning the Champions League.”

The Bianconeri had a disastrous start to the campaign, but since October 28’s defeat to Sassuolo have put together 24 wins and one draw (against Bologna).

“It was almost impossible to win 24 out of 25 games,” conceded the Coach on Mediaset Premium and Sky Sport Italia after a 2-1 victory away to Fiorentina.

“Since the start of my coaching career I have always been confident of what I was doing and fully aware of what I needed to improve. At the end of the day, results are everything in this business.

“I often get called a ‘club man’ – if a Coach has everyone on side, that helps get results, doesn’t it? If you don’t share the ideas of the club, you just politely point that out and walk away. This squad has been put together in an exceptional manner by the club.

“I’ll sign the contract next week, assuming they let me sign it!”

Juve grabbed a dramatic 2-1 victory away to Fiorentina this evening, as Gigi Buffon saved a last-gasp Nikola Kalinic penalty.

“This was a very important stepping stone towards the title. I have to give a lot of credit to Fiorentina, as they caused us many problems. My lads also deserve praise for their performance.

“We ran few risks other than counter-attacks until the 1-1, then we went into a little chaos, as unfortunately in Florence the games are never over until the final whistle. We did well to hang on.

“Buffon is the most representative and important player at Juventus. Obviously his words hold a different weight to something the others might say.”

Juventus can secure the title on Monday if Napoli fail to beat Roma. Will the team watch that game together?

“We will train as usual, then prepare the match against Carpi. Don’t forget we also have the Coppa Italia Final on May 21 and we mustn’t reach that appointment against Milan with the wrong state of mind.

“If we watch the game or not won’t change anything.

“Initially we had gone in a little soft and were a bit too relaxed, but from November onwards the journey has been extraordinary.

“Next year we must target winning the Champions League. It’s reductive to focus just on Serie A. It’s one of those competitions where one incident goes wrong and you don’t have time to recover.

“I believe that regardless of tactical systems, we have to improve our control of the ball when under pressure and in the lead. We mustn’t lose the ball in a banal manner, so that is what we need to work on in certain moments of the match.

“Otherwise we create excessive pressure on ourselves that can be avoided.

“We can improve the players we’ve got and help them reach maturity, as for example we were naïve against Bayern Munich when in control of the situation.

“The club will focus on improving the squad, as it did last summer, bringing in young players with great technique.

“Paul Pogba has improved a great deal in terms of character. I said the other day joking that as the €100m wouldn’t go to me, I’d rather keep Pogba!”

Allegri: 'Mandzukic is gifted'
By Football Italia staff

Juventus Coach Max Allegri claims critics are missing the real skill behind Mario Mandzukic. “He rarely gets a pass wrong.”

The Bianconeri beat Fiorentina 2-1 this evening at the Stadio Franchi and the Croatian opened the scoring, volleying in with his weaker left foot.

“People maybe don’t realise, quite a few in fact, but Mandzukic is a very technically-gifted player,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

“He rarely gets a pass wrong and gave a fantastic assist to Paul Pogba, as he did to Sami Khedira the other day.

“Paulo Dybala catches the eye because he’s quick and agile, but watch Mandzukic timing his runs and choosing his passes.”

Mandzukic is also a decisive figure, as of his 10 Serie A goals scored this season, eight were openers.

Yeah he was considered wonderkid that's why Zamparini signed him, he has great talent but he's being anxious most of the time he needs to calm down.

Congratz. Judging by how convincingly superior to everyone else you ended the season it's hard to imagine a different outcome for next season, so congratz for 2016-2017 too.

honestly I did not expect JUVENTUS to perform so good this season considering the important players has left and the bad start but I always liked the idea of building a team with fresh players like DYBALA, MORATA, POGBA, STURARO, CUADRADO and more

more transfers like POGBA that is what we need, we try a bunch of young talents and if one of those end up to be as good it is worth of try , we don't really need to aim expensive players there is no need for that we are already good , but that shouldn't stop us from experimenting with YOUNG talents as we done with POGBA, MORATA

I don't really have expectations for UCL its unpredictable tournament even if you have the BARCELONA best days team, someone like INTER, CHELSEA may knock you out it is unpredictable tournament you can hardly guess who will win it so its not like if we bring CAVANI, and a bunch of players that will win us UCL it simply doesn't work that way and its not worth of expending so extreme and gamble for UCL , we are good with SERIE A and hope we do good in UCL as well , as we done so far with ALEGRI same approach should remain

these guys added extreme energy ; and all the game changed

MORATA as always performs perfect on BIG GAMES
I hope magic happens and we keep both MORATA and CUADRADO, because I don't really see someone as upgrade to these guys

Hernanes is absolutely terrible, sell him and literally offer his transfer fee in a signing on bonus for Morata, not that Morata needs the extra £50

The midfield was very shaky today, and it is the reason we couldn't control the game. Hernanes next to Lemina is something I do not want to see again.

What do you guys think Lemina's best position is? Or rather best role?

Several times I have seen him in this sort of Vice Marchisio/ Regista role and it doesn't seem to suit him. He is an intelligent, hard working player. Decent passing range, dribbling ability, shooting and his movement is good too. He kind of does everything at a good level without doing anything at a great level, or anything at a poor level.

With that being said, he is not the one to facilitate the attack from the back- Hell we missed Bonucci today for that. For the record, Hernanes isn't either but I've ran out of bad things to say about him after today (he's just an awful player in my opinion). But Lemina shows promise and we've shown investment, next season I am curious to see how he develops and what role utilizes his strengths most. I thinkPereyra starting today over Hernanes would have been a more interesting team going forward at least

Allegri's starting 11 left a lot to be desired, I think everyone knew Milan would come at flying and they played a good game. Allegri's substitutes were on point. Morata's last game in all probability, glad he was the hero and leaves on a high note.

I honestly don't see whats so good about Lemina. I missed the 2 games everyone says he played well in the first half of the season. Almost every time I see him he is a passenger.

We all hate on Hernanes for being awful last night but Lemina did not do anything. The game was just passing him by, no contribution whatsoever for most of the game. He has a good tackle in him but he rarely tackles, his passing is fine and he has some skill but he rarely sees the ball. It looks like he doesn't know where to be or what to do unless the team is firmly in control, I would say his best position is DM but 1) we don't play with a DM and 2) he needs to be much more aggressive.

He seems like a Khedira that's not so smart. Khedira is not the best tackler, the best passer and doesn't run the most, but he knows exactly where to be and what to do. Very smart player, something like a midfield version of Barzagli or Muller. Lemina has a similar skillset but lacks the positional awareness. Hopefully that can come from experience.
