Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Christopher Nolan may be filming a World War II film inspired by the evacuation of the French seaport Dunkirk. Dunkirk's mayor Patrice Vergiete is said to have announced that a "world famous director" is set to shoot an American blockbuster in the city.
According to local French newspaper La Voix Du Nord, that director is Nolan. Via translation from Indiewire, La Voix Du Nord writes, "Completely incognito during his recent visits to Dunkirk with his brother Jonathan, [Christopher Nolan] absorbed the territory, its past and the consequences of the conflict."
The Dunkirk evacuation is also called the miracle of Dunkirk. When the British Expeditionary Force and other Allied Forces were trapped by German troops, it was expected that many of troops would not be saved.
Miraculously, the troops were able to evacuate across the English Channel and over 330,000 soliders were saved.

Nolan doing a war film? interesting
War films are one of my least favourite but I'll watch it for Nolan
if the rumour is true
Expecting to see Bale in it lol

Firenze wrote:definitely an injustice to the movie if you don't watch the revenant in 4K tbh tbf, the visual shots are pretty unreal, imagine it will win whatever oscar award there is for that (don't recall the name off the top of my head)
can't see DiCaprio winning an oscar, he was good but has plenty of better performances, I imagine Hardy will get a nom for best supporting actor though, he gave a pretty good performance too
overall I feel like it was a pretty average revenge movie though
Nowhere as good as h8ful 8?

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Not for me. Top 3 movies of the year would most likely be The Hateful Eight, Sicario then The Revenant.
Still a good movie, after reflecting on Leo's performance it was definitely great though, wouldn't be surprised if he won the oscar this year but that's more to do with there not being an out and out favorite/relatively weaker competition.
Unreal visuals in it though, really helped set the tone of the movie.

Firenze, the word you're looking for is 'cinematography'. And yeah most critics think Lubezki (cinematographer of The Revenant) will do the three-peat in that category.
Oscar confirmed.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Guys pls do watch 5 to 7.
Olivia Thirlby is slowly stealing my heart, but bah gawd the French actress in this was a sight as well. The Before trilogy influence and style is obvious, but there is a difference in that the woman is nearly 10 years older than the man and that the woman is married. Considering that it might be right down @Pirloisjesus's alley, although the woman and the husband has an open relationship so it is mutually consented.
Yes it may be fantastical, dramatised and even be predictable most of the time (all the things I hate in the romantic drama genre), but its energy, humour, the characters' chemistry and good acting made sure it felt all but cheesy and generic.
